Igbos Are Marginalized But Not An Excuse To Disintegrate – Political Pundit by DamnnNiggarr: 11:04am On Jan 03, 2021
Igbos are marginalized but not an excuse to disintegrate – political pundit.

A political pundit residing in Zamfara State, Alhaji Ahmed Bakers has said that there is no doubt that the Igbo’s are seriously marginalized in the country due to the civil war that occurred between 1966 and 1970.

The political analyst explained that the agitation of the Igbos needs to be considered due to the fact that the country is now a united entity.

Ahmed noted that since the end of the civil war, the Igbo’s have been denied the seat of the presidency in the country that they are equally entitled to.

He said that power drunk politicians from the North and West who are still clamouring for the presidential seat in 2023 do not have any good intention for the unity and peace of the country.

“We all are aware that after the civil war in 1970, the then Head of state, General Yakubu Gowon said that there was no Victor no vanquish” he thundered.

“I am from the northern part of Nigeria and I am not in any way supporting such selfish ambition because the north has enjoyed power in this country for a long period, likewise the western part of Nigeria.”

However, Ahmed advised the Igbo’s to fight for their right through a way that can be justified by everybody in the world.

“There is no where in this whole wide world that peace can reign without justice because justice remains the backbone of peace anywhere in the world”

He cautioned the people in the corridors of power to ensure that there is justice in Nigeria’s political set up, stressing that the Igbos have contributed a lot to the Nigerian project.

“I am, therefore, making a case for the unity of Nigeria because without considering the Igbos for presidency in 2023, the problem of Nigeria’s politics will still remain.”

According to him, there is no reason reasonable enough to deny the Igbos their legitimate rights in this political set up of Nigeria.

He has spoken well, but how can the Igbos get a president when they don't speak with one voice?
Majority of them still supporting PDP that has already decided to give 2023 to Atiku
I don't support Igbo presidency, what I support is restructuring, that will effectively shut down the voices of secession.
North or south, what we need is a competent leader that will move Nigeria forward.

Only greedy fellow are after personal gains above the unity of our country.

l can authoritatively tell you than igbos loves this country equally or more than a those who think they hates it. Igbos don't discriminate in travels, development and citizenship where they find themselves. We have given more to the unity of these country more than anybody.

lgbo man will travel to Lagos, kano, Adamawa etc build his business, house and raise his family there for years but hardly will you see other tribe own businesses in East or own a house but still will be first to shout "One Nigeria"

One thing hindering igbo
agitation is that the elite don't subscribe to it yet and most of us as well but anytime the agitation is unify, the objective will be achieved. There is not need for war again.

l know power is not given but taken but if Nigeria will stand the taste if time, equity, fairness and justice are needed.

How are ibos marginalized self? When will this nonsense talk stop like dis? Okay, as someone from Ondo state, Nigeria, i can tell you that we are marginalized too, at least no single iota of FG presence in my state, Anambra with river niger can boast of river port but Ondo with the largest coastline in West Africa have no seaport, no government supported scheme for our fishery industry despite that we are one of the largest producer of fish in the country, we produce about 40% of all cocoa exports in the country buh what has d FG done to encourage us? nothing. SW is a political expression, it's not as if we have any regional elected rulers for it. Even common old rail line no pass my state abi i suppose move go Lagos before i go enjoy dividend of democracy? Nigeria is a federal state and not regional and i am suppose to be a Nigerian from Ondo state first before any other thing according to the confused constitution. So we are all marginalized. Chikena. Yourubas have had the Presidency for 11 years, 8 years of Obasanjo and his 3 years of military rule. Are Yorubas today happy with Nigeria? They still want the Presidency in 2023. This means that the Presidency did not make Yorubas content

Notherners have had the Presidency for almost 40 years in democratic/military rule times. The North still wants Presidency in 2023. That shows that all the Presidency the North has had has not made them fulfilled

The issue of Igbo Presidency is not worth the paper it is printed on, Nigeria does not work. Im not against my fellow Igbo becoming President of Nigeria, but let no Igbo be deceived that Igbo presidency is the end of Igbo marginalisation. Presidency comes and goes and it has not helped those who had it in the past.

The focus of Igbos should be to exit Nigeria as an independent country. An independent Igbo land is a million times better than President of Nigeria. Nigeria can never work, but an independent Igbo land can work very well

It's naive Igbos that still believe they and their children can reach their full potential in this evil contraption they share with thoroughly wicked people.....it's such Igbo i pity! Just saw a Youtube clip of Enugu airport that Buhari and Hadi-Sirika closed down more than a year ago with the excuse they wanted to renovate the runway! The airport is now a shadow of its former self....there's still ugly scaffolding covering the terminal of the airport they and some bastard, efulefu Igbo went to celebrate its reopening a few months ago! The int'l terminal that Buhari stopped work on in 2015 still remains an empty shell while the ones in Lagos, Abuja, Port and Kano are either completed or nearing completion! Buhari and Hadi-Sirika have achieved their wicked aim of reducing that airport to a joke while they take care of the ones they have in Kano and Kaduna....the one in Kaduna having been upgraded to a full int'l airport through the back-door!
