To understand the dark hatred and contempt-filled mindset of Mktinsight for Anambra is to look at his half clever deceits. When he wants to belittle Anambra accomplishments such as to compare Anambra airport terminal size, he uses the biggest airport terminals in the world such as London Heathrow or New York's JFK. But when he wants to compare where Anambra is developmentally, he points to places that are not even as developed as Abakaliki just to undermine the entire state. While i have nothing against Kisumu, we should not try to pass it off as a standard that should be copied. Kisumu harbors the biggest slum in Kenya. Infact if you look at the satellite image of Kisumu, you will see that the slum area cover greater than 70% of the city. While the Kisumu governor has continued to vastly improve the city, get more international airlines to use the Kisumu International airport, it is still a far cry from what should be touted as an example to copy. If Anambra wants examples of African cities to copy, it will be Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, etc. Mktinsight stop deriding yourself suggesting Kisumu or Bamenda as places that are better than Anambra in your silly warped mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b54Nkm_pyGM

somalianprince:I first quoted you? You replied to my post calling out the idiots in the thread for insulting and jumping down everyone's throat, I guess that means you are one of them, and now you have switched that I replied to you first. Chai, some people are fools through and through. Here is some vapor rub for that salty wound.

AKswift:Bolded: Bros, but you said it was ranting as we were highlighting the abandoned Orlu in Imo state where Owerri politicians seized all six government subsidized tertiary education institutions in Imo state but left only a school for the mentally and physically handicapped in Orlu, nothing brings government attention to Orlu. |

If the thing tire you, then get out of this thread. This is not the only thread on nairaland, there are well over 1000 threads on this forum, but why idiots like you chose to camp here is beyond my understanding. [s] Daverytimes:[/s] |

Mktinsight, take note that terminal building doesn't speak for a good viable airports. What speaks for a viable airport is the runway, ILS. With good runway, airport Will be viable because airport can have one good long, wide and thick runway with more than 5 terminals but airport cannot have more than 5 runways with one terminal no matter how big or how many gates the terminal have |

Update on Anambra airport runway Still on asphalting

| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by AlaIgboRepublic: 9:20pm On Jan 03, 2021 |
Rocksvibes234:Good. Hope they plant grass on all sand next to runway, taxiway. The landscaping should be quality not dust blowing all over the place like sand on side of our roads. Once they can put runway lighting and landing systems then the size of the terminal can be forgiven for now. What we want is progress and slowly the airport will enable that. |

Rocksvibes234:This is another reason for the cursed hopeless vagabond called mktinsight to be awake till dawn. ![]() Runway, terminal building, tower building, airport road, etc, all coming through simultaneously. Cool. |

Cjrane2:When you have no valid argument you engage in personal attacks. Sorry for you. If you bothered to read what I wrote you would note I said NIGERIA is being left behind. So no its not just Anambra but most Nigerian states that are pathetically backward while many parts of Africa are moving forward. Ghana built a wondrous terminal at Kotoka that put Nigeria and all its oil money to shame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDEaxCTMyUs Addis has a functioning city rail project while Lagos cannot even finish just one. Go and compare BRT in Dar es Salaam to the nonsense in Lagos Here's a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXj0arxK4CM Or contrast Mozambique's Bay Bridge with Second Niger Bridge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjcB6S_Nahc Many of these countries take urban infrastructure seriously. Again pointing to slums like Kibera in Nairobi means nothing. After all what is Makoko, Ajegunle and Mushin? We need to stop celebrating failure and mediocrity especially in Anambra which has a large concentration of brains. |

[s] mktinsight:[/s] .....and how does all these crap about Addis Ababa rail or Ghana airport in these African capital cities BUILT BY THEIR FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS concern Anambra STATE? In sane countries, it is their Federal Govt. that will be building the Anambra intl. airport to boost commerce in those countries the same way the Nigerian FG built ALL airports in northern Nigeria to boost Hajj operations ( EXCEPT Katsina airport). To begin with, Anambra isn't the capital of Nigeria. So you are preaching to the choir. Please exit the thread and go to Nigerian threads where such would be appropriate to plead that Abuja or Lagos airport should come to par with Kotoka Intl. airport. It is also hilarious that you are posting the Addis Ababa rail here. To begin with, railways are in the "exclusive list" in Nigeria's constitution where state governments are banned to build railways. Again, if you were sincere, you would be agitating that the silly 1999 constitution that bans states from building critical infrastructure be taken town. But you would not do that because the truth is that you truly don't want to see development in Anambra. You just want to hide under irrational excuses that does not make sense to justify why you would never applaud the state for truly punching above its weight. Even rich states like mine took more that 8 years under Uduaghan to build an airport! Obiano is well on track to repeat the feat in less than 2 years! Mind you Anambra does not even see up to 50% of the revenue available to Delta state. Not to mention others such as Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, katsina, Rivers, Akwa Ibom etc that enjoy gigantic federal allocation. The only state that is punching above its weight like Anambra is Ebonyi. Your bitterness and wicked heart towards Anambra and her people will continue to bring you frustration in life because you truly can't do a thing against anyone God has blessed. That is why Nigeria is in such tattered state because instead of supporting Igbos to build a strong Nigeria, they have concentrated on how to marginalize Igbos and under develop Nigeria in the process. What i love about that situation is that in the end, they will all wake up someday and realize that as they spent precious time meeting to develop wicked plans & policies against Igbos, the Igbos themselves did not waste their own time on planning evil for them. Instead the Igbos busied themselves with how to develop themselves. In the end, when they are jealous and call Igbos names for their achievements, they forget they spent their own time thinking and plotting evil while the Igboman spent his own time on how to better himself. Just like you right now, i would advise you to use your time better on what is beneficial for your state. Osun state needs your power of research to tell them who to copy in order to come out of their financial mess. Than coming here with all sorts of half clever deceit that end up fooling nobody. You are wasting your time and using your talent for evil. BTW, i hope you have seen the picture showing the asphalting of the airport 3.7 KM runway in progress. If you haven't seen it, let me post it again for you. So keep eating out your heart. ![]()

Cjrane2:The dude only presented a perspective of contemporary urban development, which is something most African cities (Nigeria for example) lack- proper city planning. Like you argued about critical infrastructure facilities residing in the exclusive list, say, rail, power and some of the big shots; but urban city development(planing) and aesthetic are being influenced by state and local governments. The Anambra govt and her residents are doing well on key public/private investments, but these efforts should be well planned in a structural way to avoid a chaotic development. Try to embrace the import of his post. His submission is not peculiar to Anambra, but a country-wide problem. |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Nobody: 6:36am On Jan 04, 2021 |
Cjrane2:Actually I am from Anambra State on both sides. Maternal and paternal. So sorry for you in yet another display of poor comprehension and emotion laden vitriol. As for your comparisons between Delta and Anambra, if there is any lesson to draw its that easy oil money is not a guarantee of development and this is why Kenya a POORER country than Nigeria has better infrastructure and why Rwanda with a smaller budget than Lagos state has a better functioning Kigali than Lagos. It is brains that builds countries not just resources. I had hopes that Anambra would truly make a difference under APGA but Obiano’s penchant for nepotism and poor project design and execution in everything has disappointed me. Like I said, chances are that he will not complete any airport or ICC before he leaves office or he will deliver sub standard projects like the Awka Flyovers with poor gradient. Jury is out on the Airport but Uduaghan is just like Obiano in the sense that he promised much and delivered little. Contrast the Asaba airport to what Akwa Ibom state is building. Like Obiano and his nepotism, Uduaghan contracted the runway to an inexperienced developer who messed it up completely. |

This airport doesn't look like child's play. I hope they pay a lot of attention on the airport building itself. I'm tired of seeing ugly looking airport exterior and interior. |
