Walayi, African leaders and those that voted and keep them in place are not only greedy, they are stupid.

They got most of their population to believe development can only come from foreigners.

Is that how USA, China and Russia feed their population, develop and became nuclear power?

Africans want to be recolonized.
Don't mind stvpid African leaders

yes we can't borrow like the US because our macroeconomic outlook is not strong.

On the other hand, the US has a better economy plus, what for this, it has the number one reserve currency, the Dollar. The dollar ensure it will continue to receive investments, creditors are willing to lender. etc. This shows in its financial and capital account .

True tok my buroda.

How did they become world currency? They abandoned Gold Standard Reserve.

Have you ever wondered why they did and why GHANA that had most of the GOLD in the British, France and American Reserves never had the number one currency?

China used brutal suppression to force self reliance. They banned virtually all imports, including food. Millions starved. And their middle classes had to use bicycles for transport, right up till the early 2000s, as all vehicle importation was banned.

There was mass opposition to these draconian policies for which countless millions of people were killed, tortured, and jailed, and many are still incarcerated till today.

Plus there are no civil rights. No freedom of speech or assembly, and one-party rule by the Chinese Communist party is the law.

Are you ready to go through the 30 years of HELL the Chinese people went through to be self-sufficient? If not - and I know you're not - then kindly STFU and accept the use of development loans and foreign capital.
How is that any worse than Nigeria's current situation?

It disgust me when people try to show they are smart but are just daft.

every developed nation today, even America were built by their citizens and even free labour or cheap labour by their citizens. there times that when a facility needed to be built the citizens of such community volunteered, even doing it free.

come down here and every Nigerian is just waiting for the opportunity to steal and destroy the little already done.

do you think these nations where built by their government?
when you go abroad, is it the government that employ you or an individual?

there , a bank manager can have a restaurant, car wash, saloon, bakery etc. ironically these are where our people go an work over there.
Here those are reserved for the uneducated and/or the jobless who have to take lots of loans for startup.
A graduate thinks it's his birthright to be employed into top government office. chio...

yet we want our own government to give us jobs and turn our houses into sky scrappers

are we willing to do what China, america, and other developed nations did?

the hate, vile, anger, mischievous-ness, hypocrisy, arrogance and unpatriotic attitude we all have most first be cured, cos these are diseases.

Lol, you don't Kno how money borrowed by these countries work
For your information, China owes about CN¥ 39 trillion which is equivalent to about US$ 5.48 trillion which is about 40 percent of their gdp

And the United States owes the highest amount of money, they owe about $23.4 trillion which has almost reached their total gdp, infact, USA owe China about $1.1 trillion USD.

It's not like these countries would be forced to pay their debt, is more like an investment, when you profit from the money you borrow, you'll be paying the person you borrowed the money from little by little.

The total Nation debt of Nigeria as of 2020 is about $80 billion USD, it's little, but the issue is can the investments in Nigeria pay back little by little.

USA owes the highest money, they
Who will China pay the money to?or who gave them the loan?

You don't fully understand China. China isn't successful because of communism. Growth really started in the 90s after the economy was liberalized (to remove some state control) and then it started soaring in the early 2000 when China was added to the World Trade Organization.

The Chinese economy was liberalized in the 90s AFTER China had developed the indigenous capacity for mass production, developed large scale manufacturing capabilities which allowed her companies to compete favourably with new entrants in the form of foreign companies.

This economic independence was what communism helped her achieve in the years prior to liberalization. It forced them to build indigenous capacity such that when trade was liberalized in the 90s, their economy wasn't crowded out by foreign capital and interests, or dependent on foreign capital to fund capital projects.

Liberalisation started in the 80s, or more accurately December 1979.

1960 - 2020.

For starters, China and Africa are VERY different, politically.

China is a single nation with a single, centralized government, and a single leader wielding vast powers over the entire nation, and exercising 100% direct control of all its resources, with zero political opposition.

That is enormous power right there to direct the destiny of the region.

Africa, on the other hand, was divided into 54 sovereign countries, each with its own idea on how to move forward. Unlike China, Africa is home to thousands of ethnic groups with thousands of different languages and cultures.

Africa is simply not amenable to the type of centralization of political authority that would see it make the most efficient and beneficial use of its resources.

Today, because of its political division, Africa, the world's number 1 source of raw materials, is a PRICE TAKER on the international commodity market, whereas it should be a PRICE GIVER, by virtue of its position as the prime source of commodities.

So whereas the world is paying 3 dollars for a barrel of African cocoa today, it could be paying 10 dollars, if African cocoa came under a central African authority. The world pays 3 dollars today because Ghana is competing with Nigeria, which is competing with the Ivory Coast, to attract buyers. So there is a race to the bottom. This can be extended to every other commodity Africa sells today. So the producers of Africa's riches remain poor, and this extends to the continent itself.

That is why the African Union is working to create a single African political union sometime in the future, as it really is the only way Africa can become the power it should be in the world.

There are other secondary issues, such as the use of unworkable imported political systems by many African nations (an offshoot of colonialism) leading to maladministration, corruption and mismanagement of resources etc etc, but the main problem is the balkanization of the continent into unviable little 'countries' standing no chance against western and other multinational powers and machinations.

Aconomist please leave that half educated guy alone that is clever by half but still dull like a you know what.

I love the simple question you asked about the difference between China and Nigeria now. If Nigeria was as free and democratic as he wants us to believe, common sense should have told him Africans would not be dying to get to China, cross the desert and sea into Arab countries where they are used as slaves and body parts trading with Israel, their so called enemy.

With people like him Africa and Nigeria in particular will remain Poverty capital as the world looking down on us. Do not forget, as I stated earlier the same dumb-dumbs sold us Structural Adjustment and Devaluation.

Now his solution is Africa union as a country to do what China did. What a contradiction for someone thinking with his feet! I do not know which country the guy is living in and what percentage of Nigerians he represents. But you can tell, he wants us to accept the slavery in Nigeria and what we are subjected to abroad, no matter how talented or educated.

As we say in my country: sey na democracy we go chop? Bobomraslot!

Oga, have you asked yourself if Buhari and his family are eating the rice they ask you and your family to be eating?

Or are you too immersed in mental, tribal and religion slavery that you can't reason that out?

Maybe you should ask yourself if buhari receives treatment from the same kind of hospital you and your family are doomed to receive treatment from.

Or that doesn't matter to you?

If not, then you are a lost mental case.
