MANILA – Another Nigerian national was killed in a buy-bust operation that netted PHP13.6 million worth of shabu in Pasig City, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) said on Tuesday.

In a report to Camp Crame, DEG director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee identified the fatality as Christopher Chukwuma, a member of the West African drug syndicate who lures Filipinos to become drug mules for them.

The operation was conducted in an inn along Escarpment Road in Barangay Bagong Ilog at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

The operation led to an armed encounter that resulted in the death of Chukwuma.

The report said Chukwuma, upon sensing that he was dealing with police officers, grabbed the firearm of the poseur buyer.

This prompted arresting police officers to shoot the suspect as an act of self-defense.

Chukwuma yielded two pieces of transparent plastic shabu weighing more or less two kilograms and boodle money.

He was able to escape from an earlier buy-bust operation in Tarlac last Dec. 31, 2020, where his companion identified as Gabriel Onyechefula, also a Nigerian national, was killed.

The operation yielded two kilograms of shabu. (PNA)

If we can implement same Law here shooting Ipob drug dealers on sight. Perhaps, it'd save Nigeria some future bad records. Getting India visa now is hard not cuz of anything but for this cursed people that have sworn to put Nigeria in a Bad spot. bout 2 or more Yorubas made it to Biden's administration but Igbos, No, drugs, Human smuggling n Fraud are rather their preference. How people travel miles away to other countries just to commit crime baffles me........The family that said goodbye to him will never set their eyes on him again....... May God console them.......it's just a pity.

I think it's highly unpatriotic of any ethnic group to soil a country's name and rub its image in the mud so much like some Nigerians do. The drug activities in Asia and the frequency of these reports reflects so negatively on some of us. Please let us stop this desperation.

Whether we want to remain a part of Nigeria or we want to form our own country, we should always remember that a frog won't become a fish if it's put into the river.

Also to those involved in cybercrime, human trafficking, terrorism and any form of criminal act, regardless of your ethnicity, please desist from it. It is getting too much...

This make it or die attitude must end. The world is evolving and we must evolve with it. Enough of these hard drugs and internet fraud from Nigerians ...

We have really hard working people making waves in their respective areas and must not allow the bad eggs spoil the great future ahead for others.
