Reps Fault Presidency On Jan 18 School Resumption, Suggest 3-month Postponement

The House of Representatives has faulted the Federal Government of Nigeria for giving schools the go-ahead to resume on Monday despite the surging cases of COVID-19.

The House said government officials did not consult the relevant committees of the National Assembly, contrary to their claim that all relevant stakeholders were consulted before arriving at the January 18, 2021, resumption date.

It, therefore, demanded postponement of resumption for three months, where necessary safety measures weren’t put in place and compliance with protocols low.

Schools are closed worldwide, and those previously opened, are being shut due to the second virus wave. Watch the news and be aware.

School campuses are closed in many nations right now, leaving online learning as the best option during this pandemic.

How do you guys think sef? Do you ever put yourself in others' shoes before you talk? Are the academic calendars in those countries as battered as Nigeria's? I don't even need to check the web to know that online classes are ongoing in those countries. No serious country stops education. Wise up. Let's not talk about the reps... Selfish entitled folks claiming they were not informed, isn't there a PTF handling the situation? Can they allow their salaries to be delayed for three months due to a 'pandemic'?

Online education is the way of the future, and the future is NOW. The corona virus is not likely to be the last pandemic this planet will experience. Time to move into the future with online learning, for which all infrastructure is already in place for Nigerians.
