I heard that if you going to USA just for tourist, they are sending people back.
Unless if you throughly have gunie reason to visit family members that needs you. Maybe for child birth or something like that.

This is not what is happening at US port of entry right now. Childbirth is not even on the table with hospitals there suffering from Covid, and Potus45 Executive Orders...
People are still going there for holidays and tourism, it's just that it is reduced and restrictive. There is a health pandemic over there too

It has changed and it takes effect from 26 Jan 2021. Anyone intending to travel to the US must do a Covid test not older than 3 calendar days prior to departure.

Good day house, please I'm going for a Conference in U.S between August 16 -19. The Conference is Offshore Technology Conference in Houston Texas. Please I'll like to ask the following questions:
>What are the likely questions the VO will ask me?
>What are the documents I'm to take with me for the Visa interview?
>Does this Conference also falls under the B1/B2 Visa category?
*NOTE: I'm using a travelling agent and they have already booked a date for me in Abuja february 2*

I don't know if one has less than 3 months visa validity and on arrival ask for only 14 days less stay, if they allow the entry?

Hmm, na wa o! I don't know what they will ask you. But if I was in your shoes, I would pray they ask me this basic question and not just assume the worst stereotypes for my application. Why must you be physically there to attend the conference? Prepare well to answer this question in this Corona virus pandemic situation. Note that the conference has a virtual option that is open to all participants and presenters. All registered attendees will be able to access content virtually. Did your agent tell you this?

Yes, it is allowable under US immigration law, even if your visa has only a day to expire. Visa expiry date applies to your date of entry and does not determine your duration of stay. But the problem is that the immigration officer has all the power at the POE. They can decide to deny entry for a variety of reasons that could be triggered by further enquiry when they see you expiry date grin

Thanks for the reply, I don't think the Conference has Virtual option because it was meant to hold last year but it was shifted to this year August due to Covid 19

Did you research this conference yourself or just taking everything your agent tells you as gospel? The name tag of the conference this year is OTC 2021 Hybrid. It is planned to be a hybrid in person/virtual event with option of 100% virtual participation, including exhibits and presentations. Bros, prepare well O!

No need for DM, I have told you all I know about this conference which is actually public knowledge. I am just saying that you should prepare to answer the obvious questions at your interview. Make sure you have all your facts straight. Visit the conference website below and do your research.

Okay, I have visited this site but from the informations I saw on their site they are still deliberating on making the Conference Virtual. They haven't make their final decision. And one of the reasons it was shifted to August is for participants to attend in person.

No sir. The conference will hold with a virtual option, 100% certain.
The conference will have a virtual option (100% certain) as well as option to attend in person (yet to be locked in) if possible. The only thing they are waiting to decide is if there will be any in person attendance depending on the covid situation. You need to come to terms with the fact that you do not need to be physically present to attend the conference and be able to articulate what specific benefits will accrue to you by investing a large amount of money to attend in person. Even presenters and exhibitors will have a virtual option. Here's a quote from the conference site:

What if I am from another country and cannot travel to the United States?
You have the option of attending OTC virtually. It will be recorded, and you can watch during the time zone that works to your favor, with the exception of live sessions—which will be uploaded at a later date.

Did you read the FAQs?

Not sure any physical conference is going to take place in U.S till summer. I'm not sure they will issue you any visa.

They will not give you. They know you are planning to stay and not come back. Why is that conference so important to you that you will fly 7000 miles to attend a 3 days conference. Why not rather apply for vacation, that is more realistic.

Guys please what’s with the covid test requirement for traveling? I want to visit the US Next month and I understand i am required to get a covid negative test before boarding. Can I buy my ticket before doing the test? What if the test is yet to be processed as at when I am ready to board? Or do I wait till i get the result before buying tickets?

Pls can anyone enlighten me on US embassy interviews of last year before they closed due to the pandemic. Are they rescheduling interviews?
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Kemo88: 7:48am On Jan 31, 2021
Good morning,
Please has any one recently gone to the embassy to get a B1/B2 visa for the purpose of holiday? What was your story? Can you please post a transcript?
My dad is trying to renew his visa (He has had a couple of visas in the past)
His appointment at the embassy is in two weeks (that’s the date we got) and The travel date he put on his form is May. Purpose of travel holiday.
Does anyone have a similar experience and were they approved? If yes, please share your transcript.
For anyone else/ gurus in the house any concerns or red flags? Please what are his chances?

What kinda conference is someone planning toattend in the US during a pandemic? Even some of us in oil and gas have had every trainings. conferences etc put on hold. Baba, leave that conference format grin.

My advise is, don't waste your money, attend the conference online then maybe some other time when everything is settled you can think about in person attendance.
