Thanks sir, much appreciated.

wip7:

CIU admits students with HND for a master's program and you may have to take foundation courses and pay for them.

Preferable in terms of what? South Cyprus does not admit HND for master directly.

Jobs are scarce in both TRNC and South Cyprus. Both countries are mainly for studies only, while some students have found jobs the salaries can only be for some supports. All students are advised to have full tuition or a stable sponsor.

Best wishes

(CIU)

When did you pay and did you pay from Nigeria or Cyprus. It all depends but normally you should get your UAL in 24/48 hours after confirmation of your school fees. I made payment for a student on Thursday from Cyprus bank and Saturday night I got the UAL & Receipt issued.

If you have a trusted person in Cyprus you can send naira to him help you get euro and pay in the local bank, the rate is way expensive than CBN rate but the school will confirm payment within a day, if you don’t have trusted person or can’t pay the euro amount in Cyprus then just try and wait till CBN release the funds.
You still have a month plus till resumption, if you can’t meet up with visa process then go for ok to board

One last question
Is there a way to recieve allowance from Nigeria cheaper than black market rate

And I heard that after yearly payment for dorms in EMU student pay to stay for summer and winter break, any idea how much is paid to stay during those breaks?

There is no direct way to convert naira to euro/dollar while you are in Nigeria for fees payment in Cyprus and when you get to Cyprus you can only use your naira card to withdraw limited amount of foreign currency monthly 100/200$ except you have a dollar card from Nigeria .

Good evening ,i am new here, would be greatful for more info re OKTB, my sister got admission to near east university and planning to travel first week in feb, but the agent helping said we said we need to pay extra 500k excluding the ticket for authenticated doc ,vaccinations and oktb which wasnt mentioned before this is after i have paid the agent fee, he said the oktb cost 350,000naira but when i called the airline they said its free, theres no where stated how much the oktb cost he also said oktb is not recognised in lagos airport which is where she lives that she has to travel from abuja, can you please confirm if this is true?
wip7:

Hello,

Remember studying abroad means paying tuition fees, accommodation, living, and maintenance expenses. If you are certain you will have all the mentioned fees+expenses that will cover you 1-2 years of studies by Feb, then you can apply before then and make payment by Feb 16th. If you don't have all the mentioned fees, just relax till you have it or get the necessary sponsorship.

OKTB has rules determined largely by the airline, so a traveler will need to abide by that rule at the time of flying which I don't know what rule will apply in Feb. Take note, OKTB often more expensive, and the previous rule demand you have a return ticket and the cost of processing the OKTB is not fixed but depends on who processes it.

When you arrive in Cyprus as a student either through OKTB or a Turkish transit visa, students need to complete their registration with the university then apply for a student residency permit (meaning you are not going to apply for any student visa as the permit allows you to stay according to its validity) which is currently renewable yearly. You don't need a bank statement or yellow card to do that, for the residency permit; all applicants apply online and submit medical test results and follow the rest of the procedure.

I hope that answers your queries.

@yemmy111, be careful with that agents, he collected fee for getting admission to Cyprus uni? It is free. Vaccination for what’s exactly? No vaccination as well and OKTOBOARD only works from Abuja,I think he’s trying to take more money from you for no reason,OkTB is usually within $500-700 depending on the agent and he’s not the one to authenticate results, its only done in ministry of education and foreign affairs in Abuja,it’s not needed for for studies in north Cyprus between.

yes paid 200euro for admission, he said she needs yellow fever card, typhoid and of course pcr covid19.
I had to call the school directly and they said she only needs the original doc no need to authenticate it but they couldnt really advise re the okto board ,but now you've confirm it only works from abuja i guess he was right, thanks for that

You are welcome,I think he’s just trying to milk out of you. North Cyprus doesn’t ask for those things he listed. Just covid test and you can do that yourself in Nigeria labs, check online for govt approved labs where u live pls. So many desperate agents here in Cyprus deceiving innocent people

The requirement for OKTB:

----Acceptance letter from the university
----Payment of Tuition fee receipt/confirmation letter of payment from University.
----Academic results (does not require attestation)
----Flight (generally a return ticket from a Turkish airline)
---OKTB charge (this is not fixed since its a service, so different vendor charges different cost)

The process takes 48-96 hrs processing before flying.

Note:

OKTB is not a visa; it's just an approval code signifying the passenger is ok-to-board the flight. Just like a visa holder, someone traveling with OKTB can be denied entry if the entry immigration officer does not find the person having the required/original documents or passenger appearing to have ulterior motives.

Very important:

Cyprus universities do not undergo industrial strike actions and the environment is suitable for studies; however, all intending students must ensure they have financial capability or stable sponsor to study in Cyprus (including paying the tuition fee, living expenses, and maintenance cost). Jobs are relatively scarce.
