Dumb Jonathan.
Restructuring is meant to solve all the things you listed.

We need restructuring to reduce nepotism, ethnicism, religious favoritism etc.

This man led us to the slaughter house and surrendered to make us believe he is a dove... You brought us into this evil regime that is making everyone doubt his sanity and ability to hang on to dear life. You are not different from nnamdi azikiwe who agreed to our forced union as a nation. Restructure the Nation, if it fails, divide the nation. This must be done this year. How can a nation be so rich yet so poor. Citizens are killing and kidnapping themselves to feed. Faceless armed men called bandits killing innocent people for God knows what reason. If you still speak like a foolish coward you have been, Mr. Jonathan, God in heaven will punish you.

You can't blame igbo states because Nigeria is structured in a way that no state can develop without the federal government.
Just remove exclusive list rubbish and see how igbo states will develop.

We are being weighed down by the exclusive list which contains the foundation of any development
Please, stop all this talk about exculsive list. It is just a myth that we tell ourselves to stop facing facts.

1.We don't pay enough in tax. Out tax to gdp ratio is one of the lowest in the world.

2.We need steady light to have enbough power for our economy. Most of us don't pay our light bills...in some places as high as 50%

3.Many of us excuse the crimes of our leaders when they are of our tribe and religon...

4.We spend billions subsidisng fuel...meaning we don't have money for new refineries, and upgrading exisiting ones....

5.We run a economy based on selling raw materials, and importing stuff whose value exceeds our export revenue

6.The price of the raw materials we don't even control self...so when prices fall...our revenue falls.

With all that, how can we develop.?

Executive list indeed.

The only restructuring that would work in Nigeria is if
1) we have 6 regions
2) people are allowed to chose which regions they want to belong
3) each region are divided into Provence and provence generate there revenue pay 40% to region ...region then pay 35% of it's revenue to federal unit

Only then can we grow ...

Each Provence should have it's local police , then there should be a general regional police , then dss serves as federal police but dss would have equal number per zone , same with army
You are a wise man

All you wrote are byproducts of the exclusive list that we are still keeping.
Just try and do away with it first and see whether Nigeria wouldn't develop.

You use exclusive list to strangulate states from developing at its own pace to add to the economy and empower the citizens and also reduce unemployment. Remove it and see whether Nigerians wouldn't be paying their taxes and bills.

Remove exclusive list and watch everything fall in place

Which unity?

The unity that has been bastardised?

Some times, Jonathan will just open his mouth and talk like a drunkard that he's called.
. Don't mind the educated illiterate. His trying to impress Buhari maybe northerners can pick him as a presidential candidate. Is the one that put us in this mess we are as at today. Why did he refused to implement the confab? Useless ogogoro man. Jonathan is playing politics because he knew that there cannot be unity in Nigeria.

We are not the same. When the foundation is faulty, what should we do?

The fact is that if Nigeria is run the way Igbo communities are being run, Nigeria would be great.

We just have to go our seperate ways no other way.
Re: Goodluck Jonathan: Without Unity, Restructuring Won’t Work by Mayeldah(m): 9:14pm On Jan 21, 2021
GEJ is right though.

Even within the regions, there are marginalizations.

Dividing the country along Southern Nigeria and Northern Nigeria is enough.

Let these terrorist Fulanis and their fellow sharia North go form their sharia country, we are not in the same league with them.

don't mind him if for example exclusive list was in epl Jorgen Klopp coming from Germany would not have won the league.

If exclusive list was in USA Harris the daughter of immigrants would not be vice president

Or those Nigerian technocrats would have been appointed into the new presidential cabinet.

Nepotism don finish this country walahi, nothing like merit or fair competition again.

When last was real genuine job interview successfully conducted?

These days most of them are just sham. Organised to waste applicants time and resources when the candidates from above have long been selected and given appointed letters.

grin We keep going back to the same thing. I've always said it: Nigeria is like a building with a faulty foundation. You can't restructure such a building. You can only pull it down and rebuild it.
So if those issues of ethnic differences have continued to trouble us then we've got to sit down and use them as our peculiar building blocks by recognising and and using them positively.

However, the Fulani history till date has not shown readiness for that. They believe they have to make others sad so they can be happy. They believe in weaponising Islam to achieve the pride of their forebears and their own evil desires. The government of Buhari, to them, is the much-awaited opportunity to further the implementation of their uncivilised imperialist mentality.

Nigerians must separate between religion and politics, understand the language of Buhari's Fulani imperialist government and defend themselves.

Which mean we should forget about Restructuring cos they will never be unity... Hausa/ Fulani man will never vote igbo as president, Igbo man will always see Yoruba as thier problem... While Yoruba will always see Igbo as minority.
This is where you got it wrong. Hausa-Fulani can work with any group, even ceding presidency to them, so long as there is a clear understanding/ agreement, their interests are being served and they have at least an equal say on everything that happens. It's Igbo and Yoruba that draw emotional red lines against each other.

Slackerpenguin2:
So you would agree to pay higher for petrol and higher taxes?
Okay
Why not
As far as the prices swings up and down according to market forces, I will pay
Not the kind of price aso rock cabals sit on their table to determine and you want to grow.

Not this kind of pricing that is being fixed by the government which inhibits growth.

Every state should focus on what it can produce and produce it well with best technology and constant electricity and watch the price fall.

Petrol should be cheaper in the south than in the north the same way cow is cheaper in the north than the south.
But the federal government has dedicated funds like the 'petroleum equalization fund' to make the price of petrol uniform which is bad. That is part of the subsidy we are talking about.

Without free market and with the presence of your exclusive list we can't grow economically. We should continue deceiving ourselves.

Restructuring is the key
