Nice move. SecureID is a private company well grounded in secure solutions over 20years and this should be appraised and ported over to the NRC. The time to design proper ticketing solutions is now...

Kofo is one entrepreneur I respect a lot. The way she manages and keep to her contractual terms marvels me. As a contractor with SecureID, I have no fear that she will deliver.

SecureID produces most of your ATM cards and Sim cards used in Nigeria and across West Africa.

900 millions for e-ticket platform shocked. May God help us in this country o. If I am not mistaken, the platform will operate the same way airline online booking and ticketting works. Which is just an web applications that can be maintained by a team or two teams IT professional. Web applications that can be bought for at most 1 million let's even add training and hardware, it should not be more than. 10 million naira.

This is my prayer, any government official either civil servant or politician that is benefiting corruptly through this process and similar ones like this. May the money choke him/her and not enter his/her stomach, s/he will never enjoy it.

Even if the company is own by one of them, so long as it will reduce racketeering and unnecessary bribe seeking attitude of those NRC workers and they remit the government part of the money then all is good to me.

I have someone that wanted to get a ticket for Abuja- Kaduna last week. One of their staff was given to him for ease of getting ticket. He called the staff to help to help him get one. The cost of the ticket was N2,600 and he sent her N3,000 only for the lady to call back and start telling her that why didn't he add anything extra na.

If not that they deliberately delay the selling till when people are gathered in overwhelming numbers and very close to boarding time. There would not have been any need for even asking her to help in the first place.

The lady kept calling to disturb to him money. He got to the station about 30 mins to the boarding time. The lady was not there but kept the ticket with her colleague. When he got there he gave the person he collected it from N1,000 and call the other lady to thank her that he has collect it.

The first she asked was if he dropped the money, and he said yes. She then asked again if he left instruction that the money should be kept specifically for her because that is her transport for the day ooo.

After hearing all this, I asked myself if NRC worker are not paid salary. I am not against giving tips if your mind tells you to but for someone to want to tie all her problems to customers who may have their own problems too is not right.

Now if everyone have access to book online. It can will help customers to properly schedule their trip. You can book 5 days ahead of you so wish from the comfort of your house without the need to beg anybody.

C'mon, 900million for something that could be done with far less. If they even say that it would take 90 million at least it is still understandable given the Nigeria context. I don't think there is any justification for spending such huge amount

You did not understand the message passed before commenting. Check the word concession in the dictionary first. Do you know the terms of the contract? Do you know how much they have paid or will be paying the Federal Government on it?

If you don't, then you do not have enough knowledge to comment on whether it's expensive or not. It much more than just developing a website or an app.

So sad civil servants are one of the major problems of this country....In a sane environment, government workers drive government policies and ensure absolute implementation.

What will it take the NRC overhead boss to inspire his entire workforce to deliver hitch free ticketing process ,...The corruption is so much that it has blindfolded them to deliver. It's all about their purse and not efficiency.

This is one of the reasons I support privatisation of Government agencies sometimes. I still strongly feel NNPC should be privatised in its entirety.
The Management led by the MD are the problem of NRC:
*The take home of NRC staffs is too too poor

The article says they will "recoup" 900million in ten years. Meaning that they will get back their investment in the project plus profit which altogether becomes the 900 million. Let's even say they want to make a profit of 100% in that period, are you saying it will take 450 million to procure an e-tickting platform? Airlines use similar platform and I am sure they do not spend that much on theirs.

I assume you also do not have access to the contract so we are both basing our judgement on the news article.

PS. The last paragraph in my initial comment was for those who "curruptly benefits" from the project. So if I am wrong in my assumption and everything was done in good faith, I do not see why anybody should worry.

They might have even compromised the company from the get go during contract proposal tender, and all remitances would pass through them before getting to the FG account

Lay comments like an educated and sane person..the company that is managing it makes all the ATM card u use in ur various banks and ofcourse SIM card...if many banks can trust them even international firm like VISA and MasterCard license them to make ATM cards that gives access to trillions of naira transaction without any failure..what makes u think they will compromise this...

Get sense abeg...
Am even shocked amaechi went for a company this reputable..it shows they are serious on fighting the corruption in NRC..

Have you been to the station before and after this project?
Do you know the terms of the project.
You sit in your house and assume the whole thing is only about online ticket purchase.

Have you seen the Vending machines installed?
Even the people selling the tickets before now have ticketing machines?
You go there now my phone is seeing wifi in NRC name.(Although I could not connect)
There are now automatic access machine that will scan your ticket and allow you to pass.(Plenty ones) How much do you think they sell these things?

All these for 5 stations oooo.
You people will just sit on your computer and be assuming cost of things. How many computers, Servers and other equipment do you think was brought in for the project and how much do you think Server sells for now?
