Joe Biden has shown his preference for yoruba-americans. That's why he specifically asked that American girl he called on the phone what part of Nigeria she's from Not been Yoruba is a disadvantage for Okonjo iwela. Especially as the gully erosion ravaged iboe land showed their support for Trump and disdain for Biden/Obama. Now Obama hasn't forgotten that Okonjo iwela was part and parcel of the destructive and corruption ridden govt of GEJ. If Biden will support her, he would have indicated so long before now like he did on many other issues like climate change, WHO etc. I think Biden agrees with Trump on this one. Iwela is on her own . |

Flytime:The Job is not that kind of Job anyway. The Job has negligible y Executive power. The WTO head is as powerless as the Vice President. The US will not want a US citizen to head it anyway because the US is involved in so many trade disputes and would not want to have a WTO head compromsed by allegations of bias |

[quote author=saajus post=98383819]Just give her the position and let us rest. Nigeria/Africa may not reap any reward from it. Those who control the world's trades know themselves. We know she will just be another figurehead. I wish I can like your comment a million times. Only on rare occasions does one come across intelligent comments like this on this platform. |

Whatever the case, I'm sure President Biden would not jeopardize the interest of USA on the alter of "first black woman to lead WTO". |

Sultannayef:All the other 44 men to become president before him who didn't play identity politics, including Obama in his first run, did it by magic abi? The Democrat party has just degenerated into a party of reverse racists that's all. So obsessed with race in every single decision they take. It's against everything even MLK stood for. Content of character not color of skin is what matters. 1 Like |

Brightale:What has that got to do with this job ? Is it a bank Job? Being former MD of World Bank does not qualify her to Coach Real Madrid or to head the World Health Organiztion Trade is not Banking The Korean has been working in Trade for nearly 30 years and has been a Minister of Trade in her country Trade has to do with international politics, negotiations and alliances not development banking or international banking I see no basis for the claim that our candidate is "more qualified" ultimately it is a political choice 2 Likes |

slyfoxxjoe: Those 44 men didn’t have a black vice. If they tried, they wouldn’t win. Making a black woman a running mate propelled Biden to Victory. If not, Trump would have won. What are you even talking about? All that black this and that being first time should have happened long ago if racism was not involved. Many backs were qualified but weren’t considered. Just admit you’re a Republican!! |

Ibrahimmrfish: Being born a dual citizen and acquiring dual citizenship are 2 different things. When you acquire citizenship, you swear an oath of allegiance to defend your new country against any other country. That is why people who deliberately acquire citizenship are not allowed by law to contest for political office. NOI is now effectively an American for all intents and purpose. She can’t even be appointed a commissioner in Nigeria. Her constituency is now America. She sold her status as a Nigerian to getting the WTO job and she will be working for the interests of America not Nigeria if she gets the job. NOI knows what some of us know and many of you have not come to terms with. Nigeria is doomed, there is nothing like Nigeria. Don’t waste your life for a cause that will at some point cease to exist. If you are supporting her because she is a Nigerian, you are wasting your time. She has turned her back on Nigeria and I have to say with good reason. 2 Likes 1 Share |
