It's high because they use the black market exchange rate. Funny enough, Gtbank and Zenith charges between 415 to 429 for a dollar. About your question, you can chat them up to find out.

I bought two phones in December, one was despatched on 4th and the other on 10th.

The 10th arrived on the 8th of January while 4th is still on the way. The two will be received in good condition by God's grace

Usually it used to takes 14-15 days at most for it to arrived Nigeria.

This is dangerous, what happens when one "helps you pay" and you get to not receive the goods and got refund? I hope you know the person helping you pay will be the one refunded? Also, there are many good people here as well as scam artists who will soon besiege your DM offering to help you pay only to run away once you credit their account. You are better off either opening a dorm account, or looking for sellers that will agree to a split payment.

I even went back to the store I bought from to know what's up. Guess what? The seller no longer ships to Nigeria. Very soon Nigerians won't be able to buy whatever they want from AliExpress

Yeah bro. Some of them arrive within 3weeks. While some take 3months or more, so annoying.

I am currently on a dispute now concerning an item I ordered since Oct 2020. And post office crew don't have my item with them.
Just waiting to see how it turns out.

Some sellers could be trickish. They will be telling u to be patient and begging till your protection period is over and u lose out.
Better u open dispute and get a refund. Thereafter, if d item comes, u pay d seller back in order to keep good record.
