Pecuman: I prefer Igbo Province like we have the Ashanti Region in Ghana and England in UK, I prefer a return to Aburi accord instead full scale regional governments, The president should stay alongside a regional government on tribal line as an Igbo I will not support regional government where we will be East rather I prefer Asaba be added to Igboland and Igweocha with Ezza and we can be in the East central Region, or Alaigbo or Igbo Province |

obailala: Stop posting nonsense. No Igbo man denied Irabor. Nnia Nwodo don't speak for Ndiigbo. If anything it's Nigerians that play funny games with Igbos in Delta and Edo. They become Igbo when convenient for them and non Igbo when its not. The man who named his dog after Buhari and was arrested was an Igbo man from Anioma, same Igbo town in Delta that some mischievous Yorubas claim is Yorubaland, but it was Ndiigbo that were bashed for the man's actions. No one from Niger delta, Delta state or Edo state came out to claim the man. All news agencies called him Igbo man and Ndiigbo bore the brunt of his actions. https://www.nairaland.com/3293032/trader-arrested-naming-dog-buhari Nzeogwu is from Anioma too. No Edo man will agree for Nzeogwu coup to be called Edo coup, no Niger Delta will agree for it to be called Niger Delta coup. They all agree that Nzeogwu and his Anioma people are Igbos just because his actions have negative connotations. Ndiigbo never denied Nzeogwu or his people for once. When an Anioma person is in the news for good things, Nigerians(Edo, minorities in Delta) will jump out and tell Ndiigbo that Anioma is not Igbo. If an Anioma person is in the news for bad things, these same lots will quickly label them Igbos and bash Ndiigbo. When Ojukwu appointed Dr Okonkwo as the Governor of Benin Republic, the Minorities there especially the Edos opposed it strongly and accused Ojukwu of trying to enthrone Igbo hegemony on them. But Dr Okonkwo was from Anioma, the same people Edo people tell us are Edo descendants when it's convenient for them to do so. Who is deceiving who? 9 Likes |

AlexBells: Emm op, I don't think you should have opened this thread so early. The man has just been appointed and can disown the Igbo tag you are putting on him. That's how these people behave. Once they see a little of the federal government attention, they deny the Igbo nation quickly. One day, that man will claim to come from Benin or he might even tell you that Anioma and igbo have nothing in common. Then you will realize that you have been wasting your precious time. I get the point some igbos are making. When it's time an appointment given to the igbos outside igbo land, everybody will agree that they are igbos even the divide and rule leaders. They will come up with facts, figures, history and everything to show you that they are igbos and that nndigbo have been given the slot. But when it's time to take responsibility in igbo land or about any land issues, they are not in sight. The same people who claimed igbo because of appointments will claim Benin. This is very irritating and annoying at the same time. As for me, I don't care whoever got the recent appointment. My concern is that people should be secured in the country they claim to belong. I don't see any reason why a nigerian in america should feel safe and secure in america that the nigerian in Nigeria. |

Muna4real:It his right to deny but being Igbo is not an option, if you are Igbo you are Igbo, there will be time when even your mother may deny you but that does not mean that she is no longer your mother, there should be different between identity and who we are, you may choose not to identify as Igbo but you can't choose not to be Igbo, I apparently do not care about who he identifies as, I carr about who he was born as |

AlexBells: True. All the outlaying Igbo areas that still identify as Igbo should come back, I agree. But the level of Autonomy should be up to that, tht Scotland has in the UK. |
Re: Dear Igbos, If Nzeogwu was Igbo Then Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor Is Igbo by Pecuman: 2:41pm On Jan 27, 2021 |
VirginFinder: Stop acting like you don't know that Igbos commonly take names from other tribes and vice versa. Many Igbos take English names, Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu took Northern name and same with Zik to a lesser extent and this even happens vice versa as you will see many Bini and Ijaw with Igbo names. |

AlexBells: It isn't just outsiders. Almost all Ikwerre Youth will say they are not Igbo and I don not want people saying that Igbo are forcing them into political union, causing inter-generational conflict like we have with the Northerners. |

gidgiddy:Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor; sure his surname sounds much like an Edo name, I was shocked to discover he was even Deltan. But, then, his two middle names sound Igbo... The point I tried to make is that none of the people inferring he isn't Igbo have bothered to even do these checks you talk about... The sentiment expressed all over the place has been very clear, "even though he may be Igbo, but he's from the SS and not SE". This line of thought stinks of discrimination... |

VirginFinder: I don't know about taking Edo surnames but I live in the North and yes, I have seen people that I can confirm to be Igbo (go to village yearly) that have taken Northern surnames. (Sometimes it is they have Northern Father but Identity more with their mother's tribe, while other times the last name is changed to the first or middle name of an Igbo patriarchal ancestor that had northern middle or first name.) |
Re: Dear Igbos, If Nzeogwu was Igbo Then Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor Is Igbo by AlexBells(m): 2:45pm On Jan 27, 2021 |
Pecuman:When we pull out Igbo province they can join Ijaws or stay alone, if they are undecided we conduct a referendum for them, it is time to be happy you are Igbo, if they decide to stay on their own, we will erect a fence on the border between them and us, so they can enjoy their stay alone or romance with the Ijaws and Benin. The walls will be too high and thick we will not hear their laughter nor their cry 1 Like |

pazienza:Huh? What sort of deluded nonsense are you saying? That No Igbo man denied Irabor directly or indirectly? Are you saying Nnia Nwodo is the only one who made those statements? Is that exactly what you're saying? Are you sure you're okay or are you blind? or you're just forcefully feigning ignorance just to pass a message across? I'm sorry I don't subscribe to your brand of self deceit; stopping smoking that thing you're smoking. If you go online on this forum, on facebook, instagram etc., there are thousands of comments from both Igbos and even sympathetic non-Igbos, echoing the same sentiments as Nnia Nwodo. Those misguided statements is exactly what I was addressing in my last comment; if you choose to feign blindness and ignorance to what's very obvious, then that's your damn business. Don't quote me again to tell me I'm saying nonsense when your head is the one churning out deluded trash |

Re: Dear Igbos, If Nzeogwu was Igbo Then Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor Is Igbo by obailala(m): 3:21pm On Jan 27, 2021 |
gidgiddy:But he's from Agbor? So are you saying with 100% certainty that even though he's from Agbor, he is an Edo Agbor man because his surname is Irabor, despite that he has 2 Igbo middle names? |
Re: Dear Igbos, If Nzeogwu was Igbo Then Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor Is Igbo by AsomughaChuks02: 3:27pm On Jan 27, 2021 |
If Irabor is Igbo, why then has there not been any congratulatory messages from Ohaneze Ndigbo officially or unofficially? Why is there no congratulatory messages from prominent Igbo leaders of thought and means on his appointment? Why the outburst by outgoing Ohaneze chairman on the recent appointments? Simple answers. Irabor is not Igbo. He is Ika. Igbos are becoming too desperate in pettiness, truth be told.

Re: Dear Igbos, If Nzeogwu was Igbo Then Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor Is Igbo by gidgiddy: 3:31pm On Jan 27, 2021 |
obailala: Yes he is from Agbor and Agbor has boundary with Edo state. He could easily be from a boundary village in Agbor that should have been in Edo, but was carved into Delta state and Agbor, hence his Edo surname. His father could have been an Edo settler in Agbor, there are many of them there. The point here is that your ancestral surname is the main determinant of what ethnic group you belong to and Irabor aint Igbo, it is Edo |
