I was born, bred, and 'buttered' in Nigeria but I still find many things Nigerians do absolutely insane. I just read this thread reporting how 100 military women from an all-women battalion were deployed to combat terrorism on Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

My question now is: why have an all-women Military formation? Even worse, why make an all-women deployment for such an extremely dangerous mission?

I think that this shows how the Nigerian Government is only paying a lip service to the high level of insucurity now bedeviling the country. Some times, it even seems to me that they purposely and officially cause soldiers to get killed.

Where else does an army make an all-women deployment for any mission, talk less of such a dangerous type? However, if I'm wrong, could someone put me through? Thanks.

Those ladies are rugged. You need to see them control traffic in Abuja satellite town. Sending them to Abuja-Kaduna expressway is novel anyway

you talk like woman you are. How are you comparing controlling of traffic to anti terrorist assignment like abuja-kaduna highway? Civilians respect that uniform while terrorists kill anything on that uniform. Sending only Women to that mission is administrative blunder

Let me advice you op, u seem not to have military friends...or much close contact with them. But hear this...anytime u see a woman with a gun and uniform, even if she s a cultist or armed robber, please ! Comport yourself well!!

Hausa or fulani women?

I find it strange too.. but I know definitely it has to do with islamic/sharia practices that has eaten deep into our military.

I don't see this country making head way if we continue this way. Just terrible.

I laugh in spiritual language.

It is men who decide the course of society. Women could cause trouble. But when the repercussion become full blown, it is men that will still solve it.

With all due respect to women, women are not designed for war. The elite special units in the world have no women, because most of them cannot pass through ordinary preliminary stages.

They are running short of men but Nigerians don't know! The army is stretched thin.. So they prefer to station female soldiers in less volatile places..

It's a simple task

Give them these jobs to keep them busy so that they will not be in the military for nothing sake

All the southern male soldiers don resign naa. And they can't sacrifice their Fulani soldiers. So, they decided to send the southern female soldiers to die.
