Incidentally, polygamy was always universal. It was monogamy that was imported from ancient Greek and Roman cultures into the Bible from where it spread with christianity. Monogamy is the aberration.

That is irrelevant, not to mention untrue in two particulars.

In our original African culture, every man aspired to marrying more than one wife. Only the lowest status men did not do so, and even they desired to.

Islam does not recommend polygamy as a routine religious practice, otherwise, that would be saying that all monogamous Muslims are bad Muslims. Seeing as how monogamous Muslims are the clear majority, I think that is a rather far fetched proposal.

Thirdly, wealth is not an important factor in marriage; whether polygamy or monogamy. If a man feels he has sufficient resources to maintain a woman or more than one woman at a level, and the women are agreeable to being sustained at that level, then there is no barrier to the number he may marry. That applies whether he marries one or many, so the number here is irrelevant. And a man who relegates financial control to his wife does not even have to marry more than one; women's discontentment being notorious; before problems enter his house. So the issue here is not monogamy/polygamy, but how well a man can control his wife/wives greediness.

Females are their own worst enemies.

Why do they get to dictate what I do with my money and my time? They are in it for the sustenance if themselves and their kids. How many I sustain is my business alone.
