I was skeptical because of casting Rami Malek and Jared Leto. And I don't think Jared Leto even deserves a major role in a Denzel film.

I was right. Rami is not believable at all. Jared is a cartoon character. The script wasn't amazing, but I have to think that different actors would have brought more out of it.

The Old guard is not even the best on Netflix's line up.

And to crown it all, you said "it deserves an Emmy" so either this is a joke or your are clearly out of your depths here.

It feels like one consistently amazing 9.5/10 movie all the way through, and, really, what else can you ask for from a Franchise?

While Denzel deserves several Oscars for his work, you have to remember that the academy often rewards people for degrading themselves or doing bizarre things rather than good performances. Leto got an Oscar for playing a mentally ill person. Malek likely did a good job playing Freddie Mercury (haven't seen it), but he wasn't really acting. Freddie had similar nerdy qualities, and I suspect Rami is gay. Denzel is actually a real actor, even though arguably he often plays himself. Leto and Malek aren't on his level and likely will never be.

Bro, out of the 3, objectively speaking, Rami is the most talented. The guy is a method actor and has an Oscar to show for it. If you think it's easy to play a gay man convincingly and do gay stuff on set while you're heterosexual in real life, think again.

Jared Leto is also a method actor but of a lesser talent than Malek, but even at that, he's still a better actor than Denzel. If Leto brings his A game on set, he's one of the best in his craft.

The film sucked mostly because of the mediocre script not because of the actors.

I'd rate Malek above Leto and Denzel tbh..I think what Denzel just has over them is experience....Malek is just like Christian Bale in my eyes talent wise
