Ikpeazu Condemns Destruction Of Farmlands In Bende By Herdsmen by Metrix147(op): 7:52am On Feb 02, 2021
Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has condemned the alleged destruction of farmlands in Bende, Abia North by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

This is even as the Governor frowned at attack on livestock allegedly belonging to herdsmen. This governor's position is contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, and made available to ABN TV on Monday.

The Governor while alleging that criminal herdsmen grazing their cattle in the open in Abia have masterminded recent brazen kidnap of innocent citizens around Abia North Senatorial Zone of the State urged security agencies to fish out those behind criminal activities in the area.

The release read in part, "Consequently, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has directed security agents in the state to bring to justice all those involved in the criminal activities.

"Government also frowns seriously at the wanton destruction of cows by yet to be identified individuals whose aim is to exacerbate already existing tensions.

"Government has fully activated all relevant components of the state security architecture to ensure the safety of lives and property of law-abiding citizens, residents, and visitors to the state.

"We, therefore, call on the people to go about their legitimate businesses without fear as government is on top of the situation and will spare nothing in protecting Abians."

The irony of this is that northern Nigeria has big landmass that would be more than enough to own a ranch for thousands and millions of cow owners.
If not to forment troubles, I don't know what herdsmen are looking for down South. Garba Adamu already affirmed that north has everything why border other people?

They have everything as they claimed in the North, why should they be coming to the South, they haven't spoken their agenda yet, I don't believe they came only because of cow.

Seconded.

The Governor while alleging that criminal herdsmen grazing their cattle
......the criminals and evil ones among the herdsmen must be brought to book.

And nothing must happen to the innocent Fulanis doing their legit business wherever they chose to live in their country, just the same way Igbos and Yorubas live all over the country especially the Northern part of Nigeria doing their legitimate business with no one disturbing them all labeling them fraudsters and thieves cos of some few ones among them into frauds.

Any Citizen of Nigeria can choose to live anywhere in Nigeria that they want as long as they respect the rules and regulations governing the Land..... so says Nigeria Constitution.

We Rise...

Pls they should stop condemning and take action........condemning them has not proffered any solution........But I'm optimistic that actions will......So pls the government at all levels should do the needful and save the people from these animals.

Why are the Northern Governors Mute on this barbaric Acts by Herdsmen!?
We must speak against evil as a nation and people of Nigeria.
These Northern Governors are wicked and evil.
We all spoke and are acting against Boko Haram even though it was prevalent in the Northern Part so why are the Northern Governors mute at this bad development related to Fulani Herdsmen?
I'm surprised no one has brought this up or are they in support of this evil acts of herdsmen in the Southern and Western parts of Nigeria?
Anyways I'm only happy the Herdsmen are been repelled even though the Body language of the President and FG doesn't seem to be in support to stop this monstrous useless herdsmen!!!

Herdsmen migrated down south during dry season just to feed their herds.
Historically before the amalgamation of Nigeria some of these herdsmen have been settling along these routes too, hence the pocket size Fulani town.

huh

UNTIL we boycott eating cow meat/suya, they will continue to kill you all.

For me, I now eat chicken. When they can't sell their cows to us, they will relocate to the North.
