mktinsight:Was not wrong after all. 5:39 of the video it says the terminal can handle at most 400 passengers or basically 1 flight at a time or 1 departing flight every 2 hours. So it's a small terminal and will be a money loser. From the looks of it the airport will not be ready before 2022 at best and most likely 2023. Definitely not April 2021 unless they are hosting humanitarian flights that don't need a terminal. Only good thing about the airport is the location but there needs to be a flyover to access it coming from Onitsha and to exit towards Awka which is not shown in the pics. |

Cjrane2:Totally agree. The airport access road should be treated as special economic zones to ensure rascal don't begin to build ramshackle lockup shops and begin using the road to park broken down trailers and trucks. The state town planning board should apply the same strictness seen in Awka Millennium city to the types and specification of buildings along that road. Also to make sure the idea of building fences and building almost on the water channel gutters isn't allowed. All fences must be the approved types and at least 15 meters from the gutters so that the areas before the fences are used for beautification of the thoroughfare with flowers and trees. Every building or hotels approved along that main access road must provide proof of landscaping with trees and flowers outside its fence to contribute to the overall ambiance of the airport boulevard.

ANSMEDIA:Fantastic project. Well done to Obiano. No one is perfect but this has made him achieve more than any state governor from Anambra. The bar is set high. The next governor needs to build world class aviation school in the area of airport amd has to deliver at least another legacy project such as rail. We are on the move. This will ignite economic boom. We need world class roads and beautification of enviroment. The next Governor has a lot of work to do. This job must be for someone who is visionary. |

When I sing praises for Obiano I was called a psychophant, now what Peter Obi and his gladiators can not envisage of achieving, his predecessor has outperformed him...thank you Obiano... Secondly I noticed nothing was said about the oil and gas, or aviation fuel dump, I hope it still happening.. Thirdly who has been following the River port concessioning? FG super trick stars.. ...I pity those who sing praises to them... |

Those saying the terminal building is small, don't know what they are saying. This airport's terminal building is already bigger than the Banjul International airport terminal. If the place is efficient, in processing arrivals and departures, it will never be crowded. One huge mistake i hope they will also avoid is placing the car park too close to the terminal building like at the Enugu Intl. airport. I hate many Nigerian airports because as soon as you exit the terminal building, you are already on the airport VIP route, so close to the public car park with mad drivers blaring horns and harassing the new arrivals with their cars. It always makes Nigeria look like the land of mad people to a new visitor Nigeria from sane countries. I noticed Asaba airport was an exception to this rule of car parks placed so close to the terminal building. In Asaba, they placed their car park a little distance from the terminal and blocked the VIP car route so that taxis are forced to park in the car park at all times, not along the VIP airport route as in many Nigerian airports. Again, I really enjoyed a trip to Banjul, Gambia. This airport terminal was small but decent and efficient. Most importantly, one great ambiance in Banjul is that once you exit their terminal building, you walk about 75 meters of well manicured flower walkway before you get to the VIP car route. Then walk about 100 meters to the car park! Nairobi airport also has a similar distance to the public car park. This distance of the terminal building from the public car park makes the terminal calm with a unique tranquility even when there is maddening blaring of horns and chaos of a typical African airport car park. I hope that this is considered in how close the car park is placed to the terminal building at Anambra International airport.

ChimaAdeoye:Banjul, Gambia is the capital city of a country with a tiny population of 2 million. But It has embassies, multinationals and tourism relations with many countries and so the airport is international by default. Anambra needs to put in the work to attract lots of traffic to the airport. One good thing about the airport is that it is midway between Onitsha and Awka. The ANSG has to use the ICC in Awka to host big trade conventions, attract business, professionals and scholars to the state. It should also try to do what Israel does for diaspora and attract its children back for a one year cultural immersion program and what Ghana does for African American diaspora and encourage travel and investment to this group. |

Armon:Consider yourself smart and intelligent, only smart and intelligent people saw through the devilish tricks and propaganda of peter Obi and saw that Obiano would outperform him from the onset when the usual low IQ Nigerians were falling for his lies and propaganda and the fake monies he claimed to leave behind while the state was begging for infrastructure... Good to see you again |

IDENNAA:This plateue state fool. Kitikpa racha gi anya there.. Obi is one of the worst thing to happen to Anambra after Mbadinuju.. Look at what Obiano is doing during recession while the liar Obi was busy saving fake money during oil boom with 0 legacy project! Peter Obi should hide his face in shame by now.. He was busy telling us how he caanot do Akwa Ibom projects because what they get in a month is what Anambra gets in a year, now Obiano is doing superior projects than all oil rich states,.. This airport is far bigger and better than Akwa Ibom and Asaba airport! btw... Beheading is not igbo culture, take your filth back to your plateau state.. This is the wrong thread. Clown |
Eboh should have consulted me when editing this video, the project is 100% being funded by Anambra state government, they're many misinformation on that clip
Exactly! I think he's using redundant information from when the Chinese coy was still expected to finance a huge part of the cost, which was $2 Billion at the time. The state gov't and Orient petroleum are footing the bill now as the Chinese coy has pulled out, and the cost has been reduced from the initial $2 Billion. |
| Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Cjrane2: 1:49pm On Feb 03, 2021 |
ChimaAdeoye:I agree that car parks shouldn't be too close to the terminal building. Apart from noise reduction, there is a safety part in which if a car suddenly caught fire in the car park, it does not burn down the entire terminal building with it. Moreover, leaving enough space behind the existing terminal makes it easier to expand the terminal building in the future as the airport becomes busier without having to create a new car park to achieve terminal building expansion. |
