A Twitter user took to the platform to share photos of a child hawker he saw sleeping at a building site, Reports.

From The Information Gathered By , A child was sleeping close to the bananas and groundnuts he was given to sell.

When asked, the boy said he just returned from school before he was asked to hawk. He was then asked to go into the uncompleted building so he can lie down more comfortably to sleep.

"This is really wrong," the Twitter user concluded.

However, not every Twitter user agreed with him. Some said it's the reality for most Nigerians and we all see children hawkers on the streets daily and don't bat an eyelid.

That people in the past suffer to support themselves and education is not a yardstick to subject young ones to the same suffering. Most old people suffered the effects of coming from polygamous family where resources are meagre and all is left to struggle for survival. Children these days are basically from a monogamous family; its just the children and their parents. Seeing a child hawker these days tells more about the kind of parents he or she has. The parents are just lazy, irresponsible and wicked. Parents are to support the children up to a certain age before they are let go to fend for themselves. I for one, will not subject my offspring to this abuse.

Just yesterday, our bus almost knocked down a 5 yr old hawking pure water on a highway.He neither looks left nor right before crossing roads bcoz hes a child. Passersby had to take him off the road while vehicles waited. I cursed the parents in my mind and pray that one day his body doesn't come home in a body bag.

His body needs rest. let's not weaponise poverty pls
