Nemesis2you:
Supply and demand is a old world construct when people were simple.

No longer is anything simple in this current world a, becz people in this world r no longer simple bro.

Traditional medicine is very big market in China Taiwan South Korea .

Once u legalise the horn trade , ur horn output will be limited given the huge demand. Demand will easily outstrip supply . U cannot increase supply becz rhinos limited , and horns take long time to regrow.

Then what ?

Becz u opened up the trade , it will provide excuse for international dealers to indulge in illegal trade by any means , killing rhinos in other countries and passing it on under the guise of SA horns , it will cascade beyond control. Illegal Poaching will become rampant in other rhino reserves around the world , becz any supply which peaks initially and then runs shorts increases the price multiple times and increases demand multifold thereby putting pressure on the supply syndicates who will then look for other avenues to generate supply ie poaching rhinos in other countries for the horns to add to the SA supply which will be limited in the first place.b

I hope u get my point , no country , no trade is isolated , what happens in one country tends to spill over in others mostly for bad rather than for good.

Rhino is a very endangered species , cannot take risks like this for limited economic gains that too for the sake of one country , every country is equally custodian of the earth's species especially endangered ones and need to prevent its exploitation otherwise one day a time will come when we will be trading humans for economic benifits , habits r hard to loose and wrong justifications made today for money will result in wrong justifications for money for far greater evil tomorrow.
No offence but supply and demand is and very ever will be the basis of microeconomics.

Demand already outstrips supply hence why Rhino horn is so expensive.... Once legalised supply of Rhino horn will dramatically increase which WILL lower demand and lower the price making it much less attractive for poachers.

And yes you can increase supply since there are already tons of horns in storage as well as Rhino farms with established herds.

Interestingly South Africa's poaching problem started when Rhino horn trade was banned in 2009..... Poaching only started declining when Rhino horn trade was made legal again........ That's not just a coincidence my friend wink

Making Rhino horn trade will not only save Rhino's but increase their numbers dramatically!!! Back in the 80s white Rhino's were fvcking close to extinction, and if it wasn't for hunting which gave these animals economic value then you wouldn't be seeing white Rhino today....... Legalising rhino horn will have the same effect as hunting has had on game populations wink wink

The argument of legalising rhino horn trade is also supported by the Kruger national park. Whom have been the hardest hit by rhino poaching in SA

Seem like the only functioning thing in Nigeria is Dangote.

Which SA company is leading shareholder there? South Africa companies have come but few have succeeded. Those in insurance and banking are the exception - the rest don't last.
Kenya formal retail sector is not mature that's why

South African companies owns much of malls, estates, finance, insurance, etc

My friend before you open your mouth and make noise you have to use your brain you are talking about your ear most developed countries do not use Euro even countries like South Africa Kenya Ethiopia Egypt do not use your rear they use ammonium nitrate for fertilizer urea is not effective urea is 60% less effective than ammonium nitrate please if you do not know about topics it is no use of commencing what Nigerians built is what no other country in the world wants white elephants

I have say this at number one problem in Nigeria is illiteracy Nigerians believe they know but the truth of the matter is there professional illiterate. This Chinese and Indians know that Nigerians are illiterate and they are capitalising on it they are just building rubbish for Nigeria which is outdated state a country like South Africa they stop producing urea in 1960 countries like Kenya and Zimbabwe and Botswana stop producing urea in 1980 because it is not effective. What other African countries attended in 1980 that is what we are trying to do today in Nigeria can't you see we are illiterate professional illiterate

Ghanaian startup mPharma is buying Kenya’s second-largest pharmacy chain cheesy cheesy

MPharma, the six-year old Ghanaian startup that manages prescription drug inventory for pharmacies and their suppliers, is buying Kenya’s second-largest pharmacy chain, Haltons, in an unprecedented deal for the African startup ecosystem.

The transaction, which sees mPharma enter the East Africa regional market for the first time, means the young company will take control of the 20 Haltons stores spilt between Nairobi and Mombasa. The deal, which is still subject to regulatory approval, comes as mPharma works on completing a $12 million Series B funding round led by 4DX Ventures, an Accra/San Francisco venture capital firm, and Nairobi-based Novastar Ventures.

Own much - they own nothing of malls, estates - and the few companies that do well in finance and insurance - are largely run by kenyans and are just kenya companies acquired by SA firms- South African cannot hack kenya. Kenya is their deathbed.

Outside Kenya - Kenya firms are regional giants - fighting with South Africa firms in East Africa - kenya companies are invested in most of Africa countries.

We both gave our POV

Let's agree to disagree but with the common agreement the rhinos must be saved and their population increased at all costs , same goes for all endangered species .

In the end I just hope aliens start using body parts of Chinese people for their traditional medicine.

20 shops. Kenya companies rival South Africa in being source of FDI in Africa countries. Nigeria outside Dangote and banks - are not there.

In East Africa alone - there at least 1,000 plus Kenya companies operating - that was 10yrs ago - now maybe it's 2,000

Table 1: Number of EAC firms located in each member states
No of EAC firms in each country
Source: Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, 2016 December Quarterly Review
The table indicates that Kenyan firms operating in EAC member states in 2011 were 1005, while firms
originating from the other EAC member states operating in Kenya were only 276. What could explain such a
disparity?

But when we go with SA as a country.. SA is no one's mate in Africa.. South Africa is competing with highly developed countries in abroad... When you hear people saying we overhype small retails and so, don't be shocked bruh, it's normal ... A SAn has that right to sh*t on our face.

If you look at stats in most indices, we rank just next to SA in most of them.

Nature/beauty. (city greenery)
