Usually when i think of OP characters, they are OP within their anime universe as well. People like saitama was never shown struggling in his anime, anos barely sighs, and ajimu just trolls her universe, like she threatened to cancel the manga.

They are just so strong they make other characters look weak in comparison. Acual OP characters aren't used in those list because they are basically hax users. We are talking about people with space, time and reality manipulation. Some of the characters in overlord are strong in their own right, but with momonga using time stop and instakill spells they look like ants trying to measure up to a dragon

The issue with this is that a lot of DBZ characters will stomp majority of the anime verse. Freiza destroyed a planet and Goku beat him with super saiyan, they needed Super Saiyan 2 to beat Cell and had to get even stronger to beat Majin Buu.

Being OP should be a function of the character's own universe. For example, Koro-sensei is OP in the Ass. Class. verse, Meruem, Pitou, Pouf, and Youpi are OP in the HxH verse. However, if you take them to the DBZ verse they'll get stomped.
