Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by kikuyu1(m):
Nemesis2you:
It boils down to the individual countries and opinion of their population

Chinese are jealousy protecting their own wild life , while fuelling destruction of others .

If you want your country to destroy your local wild life which by the way is first your national heritage for few hundred millions , than its your decision to make .

Far more money can be made by protecting them and investing in eco tourism and sustainable ideas which generate income for locals.

Once you loose your national wildlife , even trillions of dollars will not get them back for you and the damage you will do to your national ecosystem will run into billions and will be irreversible .

I am no environmentalist nor wild life enthusiast , but I know where a line must be drawn .

Do you know the economic harsh reality of that Chinese curved piece of ivory you showed, for your country ?

u first need to understand the basic economics of production cycle from raw materials to finished product.

You will be killing / maiming your priceless elephants ( which only few countries in the world have ) and harvesting their tusks

Only countries like China , Taiwan etc ( majority of world countries have wild life product trade ban with heavy fines and imprisonment ) will buy them from u for the lowest minimum price possible ( raw materials always have the minimal price in a product cycle ) and since your raw materials have limited market , the money u will get will be even more low .

Then they will use it to make ivory products like the one u showed ( which u cannot make due to obvious reasons relating to National / cultural branding / affiliations / promotions etc , production scale , expertise etc ) and which they will sell for 1000s or more times higher price as Chinese Taiwanese authentic cultural art items and to increase the appeal advertise them as made by authentic Chinese and Taiwanese artists specialising in the same.

So who is the real looser and the real gainer in all these ? Penny wise pound foolish .

End of the day your country , your wildlife , your decision .

And what Kenyan wild life authorities did and r doing , my respects and good wishes to them .
The issue is WILDLIFE UTILISATION, mainly ranching and/or hunting. As the law stands NEITHER is legal in Kenya.
You CAN'T legally shoot a FECKING duck!? A couple of years back I enquired about the licence.
That dogmatic rigidity hurts the poorest in the most marginalised areas, of which there are many in Kenya.
THERE are multiple players in a pro hunting outfit with VERY SPECIFIC SKILLSETS, the PH himself, trackers, skinners and their various apprentices ,the gun and ammo sellers, etc, etc. Also the industry supports local rifle makers
The best example being RSA with over a century of well regulated hunting. Here are a few rifle makers:
https://www.sabirifles.co.za/index.php/products/sabi-rifles/sabi-rifles-detail

http://orpenwapens.co.za/custom-rifle-building/

https://accugun.co.za/about-us/

https://customriflesandstocks.co.za/custom-products/

That zebra skin is easily 2000 USD, American east coast retail market. Its wherefore NOT in anybody's economic interest to destroy zebra herds; but rather to harvest and continue its breeding to ensure continued financial benefit.

These are local Saffa prices of various WILDLIFE skins. NOBODY would want any of those species to disappear.

[url]www.africancraftsmarket.com/products/animal-skins/animal-skins-2.html/url]

Here in Kenya it was tree huggers, professional crywankers and cynical pro hunters who pushed for a blanket non utilisation policy. The first Kenyatta gov in the 70s made millions from ivory and needed an image makeover. Til this day Uhuru, the son feels the need to torch ivory.
The pro hunters are a tight group: EVERYONE knows EVERYONE. The various outfitters often have multiple blocks across Africa. Kenya is special- apart from a long established safari infrastructure unlike most countries it also has every climate zone; high montane, true desert, semi desert, savanna, deciduous savanna etc, etc.
I'm told it was the more self interested Pro hunters who gained the most: prices elsewhere in RSA, Bots, Nam', Cameroon could remain high.
Btw, pretending animals are human and CAN'T be hunted is illogical! When they die this is WHAT happens.
Who benefits? We're wayyyy overdue for a srs rethink on a realistic wildlife use policy but those vested interests still control the media narrative.

I know you're pushing the inane idea that Nairobi city is small - without relent

This Nairobi Metro - 20kms-30kms - towards Thika

Nairobi 40kms away from CBD - thika town (city really) - is jointed with Nairobi - just like Kitengela, Ngong, Rongai, kikuyu, kiambu etc

Is it hard to show us the inner street views of Thika,Juja, Kitengela without without the drone shots of some small estates mostly occupied by muhindi, whites and few fortunate Kenyans?

Nigga, akwa iibom , Calabar, pH, Kano, Kaduna,Enugu, Ibadan, Owerri,Ogun,Ondo,Delta....are far more Developed than Mombasa and Nairobi (excluding the tiny CBD, let's us talk about the infrastructures such as Airports, stadium, roads, Hospitals and the rest.

Owerri, Imo state(South West Nigeria)

Calabar (South South Nigeria), arguably the second greenest city in Africa before Abuja

Akure, Ondo state (South Western Nigeria): this state alone is far more Developed than Mombasa (forget about the tiny clusters of tall building in Nairobi and Mombasa?

I could show roads in all the 36 states include fact if u want?, Nigeria is not like average African countries where Development only ends in the capital city and few other cities, in Nigeria, every state have at least 3 Developed cities in it..

What YOU -are doing ryna, Is formulating tantrums from your an*us. You're speaking what is not there.

Just by pics, you'll know Nairobi has more-decent infrastructure than your biggest slumbolish city. Quality index is very important and that's why you'll see WB using road quality index to measure infrastructure dev on roads. Generators can't be a yardstick for gauging development, Nairobi uses generators as second last option to access electricity.

Abuja is a jungle with few buildings, it can't stand Mombasa .
All of this is noise bro. I hope U got my point in the end.
Ur cities and infastructures has a long way to go and that's just a bitter fact.

See I told you - you can only compete with Kitengela.
Now you're bringing your A-game.

And when we bring the rundas, karens - that occupy more than half of Nairobi landmass.

That will be too much for you of course. Those ones are word class developed world standards.

Let try Kiambu - which is 20kms from Nairobi city center - in Nairobi Metro - it's just need a little more of horizontal infrastructure - and it becomes another runda smiley

Indeed Nairobi is water deficient because Nairobi and it's metro has grown so fast.
Nairobi north collector is nearing completion.
Saisuma dam is near completion.

Here is Nairobi North Water Collector project - Phase 1 - will ADD 140M litres per day to NAIROBI

Nairobi requires 825K cubic meters per day - and Nairobi right now get supplied with 500K cubic meters - and north collector (will take it 640K cubic meters per day) and others will fill the gap.

Why are you embittered and frustrated.
Why would you go for street view when you have drone views?
You have a problem with reality or what?
Let me tell in Kenya - street view - will not show you much - because we invest in trees, hedges and greenery.
Unless you want to see street view of the business districts.
Otherwise estates in kenya are lined with too much trees and high school - you'll not see much.
