Fulanis and other Muslim mercenaries were mobilised prior to Buhari emerging as president.

These people were strategically stationed in certain places across Nigeria.

Rumours of helicopters making drops deep inside the forests in the south were real.

Fulanis were mobilised and armed before Buhari was called by and congratulated by Jonathan.

Those guns were not all retrieved in my opinion. You don’t mobilise such people provide necessary logistics and then disband them easily like that.

When a certain governor made the infamous speech when he threatened foreign election observers/monitors...you should know what gave him the guts to say that.

Those mobilised mingled with local herdsmen. There has been rise in banditry, mass kidnap of hundreds of school children and yet police and military have not cracked that ‘mystery’!! Who is fooling who in this country?

Small frustrated groups dispersed, invaded the bushes and forests around the express ways, shoot at vehicles, kill passengers, kidnap and receive ransoms from families.

It’s has been happening but ask yourself why we are having it at this scale and why the military and police have failed in tackling it.

Negotiating with criminals like these is a bad idea, short and long-term, however one looks at it beyond the first casual sentimental relief. The only exception I can think of is if the State or Nigerian authorities, involved in such negations, present the criminals long jail terms instead of execution for handing in weapons and renouncing banditry.
