Rural-Urban migration should match the economy development of a country. People should move to cities to find moderns jobs. Not find basic stuff like electricity, piped water and the likes. In Kenya - rural areas - have good roads, 24-7 electricity, piped water and people own their farms. Their farm produce are bought. There are very many good schools in rural areas.

That helps reduce urban migration until their is COMMENSURATE formalization and sophistication of the economy to bring modern urban jobs.

Otherwise you'll create huge slumpolis like your cities - which I cannot call cities - SLUMPOLIS.

Opposite of what is happening in Kenya.

The slums in Accra are counted on one hand.

Hawking is not a job. All those informal jobs - are not jobs. That is just surviving or hustling!. The difference btw Kenya and Nigeria is day and night. For example - nearly all security guards come from a company. We do not import cousins from rural kenya - and make them our watchmen. They are hired by security companies - we pay security company - they pay them 100-150dollars - not enough to really rent - anywhere except slums. The same with cleaners...they are hired from cleaning companies. Name it. Kenya is formalizing very fast.

Kenya for example has 400,000-500,000 security guards. Not Nigeria gateman . Not your imported relative who you stationed on the gate.

Last time I checked your were still mad. Kenya generates 1.5B per month on taxes alone. We have NOT touched AIA (user fees/fines) - that is another 4B annually. Our total revenues are 20-21B. That is why we have 33B budget before covid.
