Those are Highway underpasses linking different counties, I mean name underpasses inside Nairobi town and not highway underpasses OR atleast accompanying your claims with pictures?
Shows us something like these?
1- The Murtala Muhammed Way Flyover and underpass(Sabon Gari) which was inherited at about 25% is now 100% completed(Inside Kano city )
2- Kofar Ruwa underpass which was initiated & completed by the Admin of H.E (Inside Kano city )
3- Dangi 3-1 (Inside Kano city )
4- Fanshekara to Madobi Underpass
You have more underpasses and fly overs than Kenya but that does not mean you triumph in road quality index.

Can you show me a single quality road in Nairobi (aside the newly built highways) which has all basic road infrastructure like drainages, street markings, Greenings , streetlights e.t.c
Take Kaduna for instance , All newly built roads has all the required road infrastructures , this what all Kenya's roads lacks, and the state is Dualizing more than 50 roads in Kaduna(The capital(
)Zaria and Kafancha

1- Update from Kaduna State Urban Renewal Projects (Road Component). Swimming Pool Road-Almunaar Mosque.
2- Sokoto Road
3- Race Course
4-Waff Road

Can u please name 3 underpasses in the whole of Nairobi ?
jesus you're ignorant or what...Nairobi metro has more than 50 interchanges with underpasses and overpass before we talk about Nairobi expressway and two big ones proposed in upper hill.Thika road alone has 17 or 20.Southern by pass 5.Eastern and northern by pass 10.Outering has maybe 10.Western by pass 10.James gichuru rironi more than 10.The expressway will be another 10. Enterprise road has two.Mombasa road a few more.Redhill road has I think 4.limuru road one
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 5:55pm On Feb 15, 2021
I even doubt they have more than Kenya.

Within Nairobi metro alone
1) Thika superhighways has 17.
2) Outering has 7
3) James Gichuru-Rironi - 9 under construction
6) Western bypass - 6 under construction
7) Southern by-pass has 5
cool Langata road has 2
9) Enterprise road has I think 1 or 2 - very low quality Nigeria style.
cool Eastern bypass - has 2
9) Northern bypass has - has 3
10) Limuru road has 1
11) Redhill road has 3.
12) Mombasa road - has 2-3
13) Nairobi expressway - will have 19 interchanges
14) Upperhill/Valley road is getting 2
15) Ngong road is getting 1 at Junction.

And those are just from my memory - that is nearly 75-80 - in Nairobi metro alone.

Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 6:40pm On Feb 15, 2021
I'd like to see the dollars in the GDP. You're more than obtuse. Constant price are based on base year (this when stastitics body gather market prices for all sort of things) - and use that series for next few years - until they rebase agan. All the prices are in local currency(KSH/Rand).

Nominal GDP is just real gdp divided by the prevailing dollar exchange rate. And PPP is more intense - like calculating real gdp - prizes of all products and services are generated - and converted to PPP equivalent.

OK let me just destroy you now and get it over with.

SA real GDP in 2019: R3 149,3 billion or $217 billion if we divide it by the 2019 exchange rate which was in fact pretty much the same as it is now.

GDP nominal according to the WB in 2019: $351 Billion

Meaning that that difference is because base prices were calculated in $ not Rand.
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 6:49pm On Feb 15, 2021
Let me also destroy you. In 2019 (economic report released in 2020) - Kenya real GDP was 9.7B trillion Kshs - and when converted to dollars - was simply around 96B dollars - because 1USD was equal to 102 Kshs.

Real gdp at absolute prices (base year prize) versus Gdp at market prices - calculated in Kshs -- is nominal GDP - and conversion is final stage - just total gdp/divided usd at time of reporting.

GDP at market prizes (nominal) - based KSHS. Not dollars. Then to get USD - is simply to divide by exchange rate - and this kenya would not even care about - it's like of IMF/WB - to do this.

The base prices were in dollars hence why it said Nominal GDP and not real GDP..............................or can you not read?
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 7:05pm On Feb 15, 2021
Insanity. Base prizes are in Kshs. Market Prizes are in Kshs. The conversion at prevailing USD rate is done instantiounsly . that is why currency appreciation or depriciation affect nominal GDP instantly,.

You're pasting link without explaining where prizes in USD are shown. No country keep prize series in USD except maybe US and Zimbwabwe. That would insanity. How would you prize local stuff in USD?

The conversion is done as the end of year - official exchange rate - and if Kshs gdp is 9 trillion and USD is now 108 - expect Kenya GDP to take a huge hit.

That is why South Africa for 10yrs has dropped from 415billion to 300B or less - and hence this long long debate.

You said Nominal GDP= Real GDP/ $ exchange rate...............
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 7:10pm On Feb 15, 2021
To be precise, Nominal gpd - gdp * market prizes (local currency) - the total is then simply divided by official exchange rate at end of that year. And that become GDP that folks care about. Nobody cares about PPP or Real GDP outside internal analysis...like I told for stuff like poverty analysis...and other local issues.

Ok so that would mean Nominal GDP expressed in local currency should be equal to real GDP............But you can clearly see it's not the same grin grin grin grin

Still big drop and huge stagnation in 10yrs. If not you'd be like Indonesia or Thailand or China. But look now - Kenya is now aiming for you in 15yrs max.

10yrs ago - Kenya nominal gdp was 40B - South Africa 410B.

Now as we speak it's nearly 3 times large - Not 10 times!

That mean ceteris peribus - 10yrs from now - Kenya GDP would be 250B or about - and South Africa - will probably do another drop to 280B!

jln115:
$351 billion wink
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 7:15pm On Feb 15, 2021
Real GDP - would use base year prizes (market prizes 5 or 10 years ago - depending on your base years) - that is absolute gdp - without any inflation. And I mean prize inflation - NOT currency inflations.

Therefore nominal GDP is affected by first inflation (market prizes) and then currency inflation against USD.
