That is the default date and time in most IT applications if there is no date set. I have seen it a lot on my application projects.

It was just an IT glitch. At that time, the system could not retrieve the correct date and resorted to showing its configured default date.

Each date or information is stored in a field in something like a table (actually called Relation in Database terminology). The system goes to each field to retrieve data in order to show you information and if that actions fails on a date field for any reason, then the system is programmed to fall back to default date which is 1st Jan 1970.

Cmos issues probably, how old is the phone firstly, if e too old just start praying that your phone does not do through reoccurring memory corruption and loss, because the cmos is important.

possibly, the receiver's device date was incorrect. Since the actual date-of-delivery to the device can't be determined, the system simply resort to display default date.

The recipient's phone has the wrong date.
The owner plugged the phone and turned it on, without setting the date. If you notice, it picked January 01, which is the default number string.

Please check your calendar very well 1970 and 2021 calendar is the same i noticed it earlier this year so am not surprise
