Your question is akin to asking why something named in honor of Obama is named “after a former state senator.” SMH

Meanwhile, this is not the only named station.
Several of the other stations are named after Soyinka, Ekwueme, Jakande, Jonathan, Awolowo, Enahoro, Rewane, etc. etc.

Amina Mohammed was born in England (her mother is British), got her degree in the UK, but returned to Nigeria and served (starting under the OBJ administration, as Senior Special Assistant on MDGs). Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala left Nigeria with only a WASC school certificate, and returned with multiple tertiary degrees to serve Nigeria THREE times - including as Nigeria’s first female and only 2-time Finance Minister. Nigeria GAINED!

Do you know how many people she took to UN when she was going? Yorubas, Ibos and Hausas...
Many policies that favor her staff members when she was the Minister of Environment.
She's not a tribal bigot like you!
If I was in Buhari's shoe, I would probably name her after your state!

Not everyone that does good, put it in the media.

Amina Mohammed did not just surface as Nigeria's minister of the environment.


She was working with the United Nations on their Millenium Development Goals project when President Olusegun Obasanjo brought her back to Nigeria to be his special assistant on Millenium Development Goals.

At that time President Obasanjo was head hunting certain Nigerians that lived abroad, e.g. Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Professor Charles Soludo and Ambassador Oluyemi Adeniji. Amina was one of the people that he brought back to Nigeria.


Part of her job then was to use some of the money that we saved from debt forgiveness to work on rural development, girl child education, etc.

At that time her name was Amina Az Zubair. I don't know why it changed.


She went back to working with the United Nations, she lectured at Columbia University and she also worked with the Gates Foundation after Obasanjo left office.

(I remember that she also served the Yar'Adua and Goodluck Jonathan administrations in some form, I think as special adviser on sustainable development goals).

President Buhari brought her back again to work as minister of the environment before the UN took her again.

She speaks fluently than Ngozi but that is not important. you did not answer the previous questions we asked since you know the hiistory very well

I don't know if she has a university degree. I only know (this is from a 2005 memory) that she attended Henley Business School.

She was only environment minister for around a year (she was appointed in November 2015), during which time she secured agreement for the Ogoni cleanup, but then the UN came calling in December 2016.
