Even the cost of charging EVs in Nigeria is unlikely to be cheaper than cost of petrol, as electricity supply is very erratic and not constant.

So people will rely on generators to charge EV. Isn't petrol or diesel going to b used to fuel those generators that will be used to charge the EVs? What is the cost of such petrol per litre, and how many kilowatts of electricity will be delivered by such generators to charge the EV?

Not only that, EVs are far more expensive than ordinary petrol vehicles.

Your other points might be valid but I'm 100 percent sure EVs are cheaper to charge up than Petrol vehicles to fuel up.

You are sure about this?? How many EVs have you charged up within Nigeria? And do you compare the cost of charging with the cost of petrol in this same Naija, where electricity is so erratic??

I've done some research on that particular EV sir.
A couple of hours charge is enough for about a week's worth of commute.
And it is much much cheaper than petrol usage.

You can still buy car but just that you should also contemplate something that doesn't rely on fuel too.

Where are the figures? Where is the data? You are not being realistic. Even abroad a full charge will not last for a week.

An electric scooter like the one Anis used doesn't require license and can be ridden on walk ways, side walks or even medians where possible and not the main roads. If you know you way very well in Lagos, you no go get problem

Nobody is talking about license. We are talking about safety here. Lagos roads are NOT safe enough for anyone to drive an electric scooter on the roads.

Last year I rode 1000kms on the same lagos roads with a bicycle. In 2019 I commuted 14kms per day on the bike to work for 5 months. Some days I rest but i was averaging nothing less than 50kms weekly.

I know friends who did 3,000kms - 8,000 kms + for the year

Lagos roads are the least bike (or scooter) friendly ones I agree. But it's not as unsafe as you think.

Go to Igbobi Orthopedic band ask them they number of okada accident victims that they see on a daily basis.

Go to other hospitals in Lagos and see those maimed after being injured in bike accidents. So what da heck makes you think a scooter will now be safer than an Okada, from other road users??
