Mugu.

It's not about race or complex. It's common sense. What are you doing rooting for a team representing a society that doesn't want any of your kind even in this modern era. To the point that they are one of the only teams in South America that don't parade your kind.

Listen goofy. Do you know how crazy you would sound to an Argentine if you told him you support Argentina wey no dey parade your kind ahead of your country? They will laugh you out of the stadium like the clown that you are.

Omugo. You dey support Argentina because of Messi wey go soon comot your team. Shior
You guys are just missing the point.

I dunno if Usbcable for one, is getting alert for pushing this decitful narrative once every year for the past 10 years.

I know of a lot of Oyinbo people who seriously rooted for the Super Eagles at USA 94 and also at Atlanta 96. Those oyinbos also had their nations at these 2 tourneys.
Now what do we say about them?

Support for teams at FIFA World Cups has never been entirely about race and nationality.

The traditional FIFA World cup teams esp; like Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Italy and lately Spain have always had good support across the world at FIFA world cups, irrespective of Messi; irrespective of skin colour
And that's because back then the competition was more popular than the champions league we all love today.
It was our biggest opportunity to see our best players in the pitch and see the best football.

So generation to generation these big teams especially have always had massive support from fans across Africa at World Cups.
And trust me there is a good number who did that because they didn't have any belief in their home nation while many did because they saw the best football and the best players from these big teams.

Even at the Euros where there is no Naija, some of us always have a team we root for.
It's football.

But agreeably times have changed. There is more focus on club football but those tendencies would take some time.

Millions of Naija fans support certain teams at World Cups and Euros, Fact.

But again, I don't think anyone would support any other Nation in a head to head match against the Super Eagles.

This here has been the point of my argument since. Someone here or two says they'll support Argentina over Nigeria in a head to head match cos they believe Nigeria doesn't have good players and won't go far. That's what I find really weird.

That's being too extreme.

I have said it countless times, when it's the Super Eagles against any team; it's the Eagles all the way.

tell us what you were thinking when you typed the below in screenshots.
You ego has relaxed after realising that your messiah is no longer the Leo he used to be.
by 2034 your senses would have fully reset because Messi would have retired then and all the nonsense fake patriotism that you have for Argentina would have washed away and you wold remember how black you are and start supporting the one thing that choose you and you did not choose

i.e NIGERIA

imagine you guys jubilating that Messi scored against Enyeama. tueh I spit in disgust and shame for you guys.

You still nor wan get sense abi?

Supporting the Eagles is one thing.

Believing the Eagless could win the World cup is a different kettle of fish.

How do these screen shots show that I wouldn't support the Super Eagles in a World Cup match?.

Till tomorrow I don't believe the Super Eagles can cross the quarter final of the WC.

Does this mean that I don't support the Super Eagles?

Why not show a screen shot of anyone jubiliating that Messi scored Enyeama!
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Jodera: 9:07am On Feb 23, 2021
But on a more serious note and to be fair, I didn't see him supporting Argentina over Nigeria nor jubilating when messi scored enyeama according to the screenshot you brought.

He's been bringing these screen shots for like forever.

And there's no where in my posts that I suggested that i support Argentina over Nigeria or that i rejoiced when Messi scored Enyeama.

And he just keeps bringing back these screenshots.

Whenever I see Nigeria vs Argentina, it appears to me more like Chelsea vs Barcelona. grin grin

God knows I can never support Chelsea even though they play Real Madrid. undecided So in that instant, I see Nigeria as Chelsea. I see that arrogance. I see that gutter-like bravado. shocked shocked It pisses me off.

After that match, I went out on the street to see their downcast faces and my face lit up with an impish glee. tongue

And of what value are a million headers if his scoring rate is still far far far inferior to Messi's.

Nothing wrong with all you have said here but who are the oyinbos that would root for Nigeria ahead of their own country if they ever met head to head. That's simply not true

In the olden days it made sense to support a powerful footballing nation regardless of your nationality but in these modern times with the advent of globalization it's asinine to me to see a Black man, a Nigerian man support Argentina of all countries even ahead of your country.

A country you have no ties to and worse do not parade your kind in any sporting endeavor. You're rooting for them simply because they parade a player that will soon leave your club. Is that not foolishness? Because I know he will not support the same set of players he swore were holding Messi back when Messi leaves Barca

My question to the Muppets who support Argentina of all countries ahead of their own is what's the appeal?
