As for me i don't see any wrong for a Christian to announce and celebrate his/her birthday. Even the birth of Christ is celebrated so why shouldn't we celebrate ours?? A birthday is a special day in ones life which marks the day the person was born. As Christians we are supposed to join our brethren to celebrate, if child dedication and marriage is celebrated then why shouldn't we celebrate birthdays. Birthdays are a sorrowful day for genuine Christian because they look at the past, present and future. I feel bad when i am reminded that I am a year plus cos i think of the day I openly accepted Christ and since then i think of how many people ive brought to Christ. People who know they are given a task, knowing fully well they have not started despite every counting years, they feel sad. Whats to be celebrated Its time to rethink and kick start one assignment. |

It's PAGANISM! Demons made people think they're special than others who died while growing up so most people back then celebrates their birthdays not because they want to glorify God but because they see themselves as Gods that's why they does things during their birthdays to prove they're Gods! Genesis 40:20-22 compare to Matthew 14:6-10 You can't find a single servant of God from Genesis to Revelation who marked or celebrated his birthday, God warned his people not to copy any of the customs or traditions of those pagans therefore Israelites are extra careful not to bring such close to God. God's word says the day of one's death is most important {Ecclesiastes 7:1-2} because that's the moment you know where he will end up whether gaining God's favor or damnation {Luke 23:42-43} Jesus is God's only begotten SON that was given to all mankind as a role model {1Peter 2:21} his parents never celebrated his birthday, he himself never did and his disciples never marked his birthday. The most painful moments in the year when evil things do happen mostly is December please what sign do we need from God again to know that God detests what people are doing IN THE NAME OF HIS SON? ![]() |

I'm not a religious person but I believe birthday celebration should only be observed and celebrated by the celebrant and if by any chance your friends know the date they can wish you HBD and let it be at the level. The essence of birthday is to apply your heart on to wisdom(PS 90:12) and not for merriment. |

Newsblenda:Did the Lord not attend feasts? Is it not Written that the Kingdom of God is like a King who had a Feast? "I have prepared my table, I have slain my Fatest Fatlings"" Obviously you do not know that the kingdom of God is about Joy, Happiness, Pleasures, Peace, Celebration, Love, Music and Dancing. And where there is Food, Music and Dancing we have a Party. |
