I've said it countless of times that if you want to steal in this country, steal between 1million naira and above, no mob will set you ablaze, they will rather charge you to court because you are perceived as rich. But if you are perceived as poor because you steal N500, N1000, N5000 or so, people will lynch you to your death. Nigerians don't actually hate thieves, but they hate poor thieves. Imagine, someone is being set ablaze for stealing N2000 or sometimes food to eat, the person they are supposed to give public beating and then give him something to eat. The same people will praise politicians tomorrow.

A young man was burnt to death by angry mob for allegedly stealing N2000 at a popular market in Benue, Reports.

From The Information Gathered By , The incident happened on Monday, March 1, at Ihugh market in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to reports on Facebook, the young man allegedly stole money from a market woman while another witness said he stole some wrappers belonging to the woman.
