Haba, I consider this as a very cheap blackmail. It is unfortunate that its coming from Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics. To the best of my knowledge, IPPIS had taken over payment of Salaries to all Federal tertiary institutions in the Country since February last year and the information i received was that March Salary had been paid. I also learnt that the Union leaders had even collected the money they were fighting for TWO DAYS before the protest. I guess someone is out very furiously to dent his peaceful administration of over three years. This is not fair.

Shey is it on an exchange that you would buy 1 billion worth of bitcoin before?

Large transactions are always p2p or OTC.

Abi attempting suicide sef

Attempting suicide why?

Bitcoin has quintupled in price since September and more than doubled in price since January. Even if he bought at the highest price this year, his losses would not exceed 4%.

If he truly bought bitcoin, then he is likely to have between 2-5 billion worth of it right now.

With the current surge in the value of bitcoin, I don't understand the reason he does. If he'd truly invested the funds in bitcoin, he could sell off to recoup his initial capital, and still make a handsome profit.

Unless he was duped by one of those fraudsters parading themselves from one office to another as brokers.
Re: Ado-Ekiti Poly Rector Accused Of Investing N1Bn Lecturers Salaries In Bitcoin by greater9ija(m): 5:41am On Mar 04, 2021
How is this possible?
1. Poly lecturers are fully in IPPIS and no rector has the power to pay outside the IPPIS.
2. How can a Rector have approval level of #1b, that staggering amount is even more than approval of the minister.
4. Something is not adding up
3. All these unions can say anything just to win public sympathy

Bitcoin has been growing. So the rector should be in serious profit already.

not sure of that. But the only available method of withdrawing is through P2P. Unless CBN lift the ban

I don't get, you mean if I transfer money from my naira wallet on luno will my acct get blocked ?
as of now, you can't use your naira debit card to buy cryptocurrencies directly on luno and you can't sell and collect your money to your naira bank account.
Your bank will not accept any transaction from cryptocurrencies traders like luno because of the ban.
The only alternative is P2P and people are scared of that because of scammers.
