I don’t understand. Are you more yoruba than I am? What’s the problem in updating the alphabet if there are defect. People like you have added H after S to make Shi sound because you know that anybody would have pronounced your name as sifi which would annoy you but you are here talking about respecting traditions. I’m telling you that when you tell a non yoruba to pronounce that pe they can’t. The Yoruba and most African alphabets were made in a rush with help of non speakers how perfect can they be?
