Hello, here are my thoughts about your concerns. I have been with Sterling Global Oil for about 4years and counting.
Work culture: Some do 28days in and 14days out. Some 21 in and 7out. Bottom line is, it depends on your unit.
Environment is generally poor.
Salaries: Not really up to Industry standard.
Sterling is an Indian conglomerate. Least I forget, salary is negotiable. I'm open for more info. Thanks

t. Not really a great company. Salary below par, some 21 days in 7 days out . Field work and mostly administrative jobs
Ps , you can be transferred to any part where their location is based,

It’s an Indian company. They treat Nigerians with disregard. But it’s an oil company work regardless.

I haven't experienced such since I joined them. Infact those directly under Sterling are paid from 25th of the month, while those in the service unit called BOGEL are paid within the first week of the next month.

do they pay base on job roles? I just to be sure because a lot of reviews about them on delayed salary payments from previous employees.

Hello, Dentrice. How did the interview pan out? Did you get the job? And what's your overall review of the place?

I anticipate your response. Thanks.
Re: Sterling Oil And Gas by dentrice: 10:08pm On Apr 01, 2021
it went well, but I don't like the organization, Indians there are too many. there is no job security in the department I interviewed.

Bro, did you later get any information and have you been offered a position?

I'm asking because the reviews on glassdoor are so depressing. Hardly does anyone have anything good to say about them.

Dear Belexy95, please can you help with information about accommodation, engineering department and salary payment which everyone on glassdoor seems to agree they never pay?

Please, kindly response.

Sterling is a drilling company, with 7rig locations spread across different states in Nigeria.
2 rigs are at Akwa ibom, 3at Anambra state, 1 at Imo and 1in Delta State.
For accommodation, we use the usual cabin with A/c, though not very comfortable compare to some other rigs.
There are different Engineering dept, such as: Drilling Engineers, Completion Engineers, Mud Engineers etc.
Salaries: As I stated in my earliest post, Welfare isn't the industry standard. It's an Indian conglomerate. Concerning non payment of salaries, I haven't experienced such since I joined them about 4 years ago. Infact salaries for the month of March were paid across various departments from 26 thro Friday 2nd April. Maybe just to add that during the heat of the Covid, drilling stopped in all the rigs for more than a month but salaries were paid. These are my experiences, please, do compare with that of others and make informed decision. God bless you.
