Ghana: Supreme Court Upholds Nana Akufo-addo's Election Victory by etokhana(op): 5:36pm On Mar 04, 2021
Ghana’s topmost Court has upheld the election victory of incumbent, Nana Akufo Addo in the recently concluded Ghanaian election in December, 2020.

Although the election was relatively peaceful, Former President, John Mahama challenged the results on grounds of irregularities.

The Supreme Court however in a unanimous decision has now ruled that since Akufo-Addo secured over 50% of the total valid votes, the results are a just representation of the citizens and will be upheld.

They also concluded that the petition against the election had no merit. Ghana’s elections can be described as one of the most peaceful elections that has occured within the african continent in recent times.
