Sorry sir that is theory not practical.during ibori trial,the delta state govt denied the loots.on Monday,some Delta people even defended ibori,am sure you read the news.what moral right do they have to claim that loot? How do you reason? So you allow people make fun of you in reality?

Talking of federal allocation,that loot is part of the allocation of delta during the ibori tenure.am sure it was budgeted for some projects which was diverted illegally into ibori's accounts but records will show that those projects were delivered.even vouchers will confirm that.technically,it is no more delta money.it has been spent or appropriated by delta.
Now,the money is in UK.the UK has authority over that money and they have promised to return the loot instalmentally or by tranches.the first tranch is 4.2 million pounds.an agreement has been signed that for UK to return that money,the fg must tie it to specific fg projects for more loots to also be returned.delta refused to be part of that agreement.the UK is monitoring it,trust oyibo.

Now,after all the stress involving the repatriation of that loot which delta denied,how dare you suggest that they should return it to delta? What sort of warped reasoning is this na? The highest that can happen is that the fg can give them something based on magnanimous grounds and nothing more.this will discourage looting from state governors.this is the right thing to do sir.same thing will apply to lagos when tinubu loots are recovered

I wasn't doubting the fact that delta state defended ibori. The question is...did the ordinary men and women on the street actually defend ibori? The answer is no. Those defending him were either sponsored or belonged to his clan. I read about the Oghara people where the thief hails from, also defending him in a mass protest. Their voice shouldn't be misconstrued for the voice of the majority of deltans . We're in Nigeria together and we understand what these politicians can do, just to have their ways. It's just like when the federal government defends themselves each time an international organisation or an international community raises alarm on the ever-increasing insecurity or poor economic policies in Nigeria and they say boko haram had been crushed or technically defeated. Does it mean they're speaking for the majority of Nigerians or the victims of boko haram or failed economic policy? No. The victims and an ordinary Nigerian would definitely have a divergent view or opinion.

I am from the Niger delta.I frequent delta a lot.majority of deltans defend ibori.even here on nairaland,majority of them defend ibori.a female friend of mine who is begging me to help me link her a job even defended ibori.it shocked me.do you know that majority of bayelsans still worship alamieyeswigha? We Niger deltans love defending our corrupt leaders who are dealing with us.theres how it is called.either victim syndrome or something,I can't recall.

But in all honesty,delta state do not deserve that money if we must be fair.even if they go to court, they might lose on technical grounds.you can't put something on nothing.they defended ibori in court,denied the loot,where never part of the agreement with UK and all of a sudden you want to reap where you did not sow thereby encouraging more governors to loot.

Giving it back to delta is like giving it back to ibori.he controls the levers of delta even from prison.almost all the officials of delta govt are ibori boys and were with him when he was looting the state dry.how can you return loot to them? Lagos is in the same status.

So my brother,if delta want that money,they can get it quietly without making noise through peaceful diplomacy.you saw how the Paris club over deductions were returned to state quietly and how the fg is returning monies expended by states on federal roads....

In all fairness, that money shouldn't be given to delta in cash, just like I suggested in my earlier post. Maybe the fed govt could just look for an area where the state is in need within the state, like road constructions or water projects and contract it directly to capable hands like JB or RCC. Do you know their teaching hospital in oghara? That stolen money was part of the funds to be used for constructing various departments there. Most of the buildings are collapsing now while those under construction were stopped before the end of his tenure. His close friend called Omatseye was his accomplice. I also know delta very well. In fact, I'm visiting Oghara , ibori's Town this week for a project, though my trip is not related to him or state. The activities of people governing us is puzzling. All of them are the same. It's ibori's case today because he got caught. Several of them had done worse stuffs. If we fail to get it right come 2023...I reserve my comment.

But in this case, the car does not belong to Mr Chinedu but his family. He being a representative of the family sold the car and wanted to use the proceed to enrich himself, but he was caught. Though Mr Chinedu is no longer the family representative or head, but he is known to have a firm grid on the family leadership. It will be unwise to give the new family representative or leadership because Mr Chinedu might end up finally getting the most chunk. The smartest thing to do will be for the village head to use the money directly to tackle one of the numerous problems in the family without giving anyone the money and not spending the money on any other family.
