After seeing what happens to protesters in this country - especially in these last 12 months - who in their right mind is going to leave their home or work to shout in the hot sun, only for teargas, injury, and arrest to be their portion. At the end of the day, NLC leaders will collect their envelopes, fuel prices will rise, and CBN will start freezing accounts. After all is said and done, the money you will spend on bail and hospital bills pass the savings from fuel, and Wike himself will not spend shingbai to bail or heal anybody. 4 Likes 1 Share |

So, NLC should fight for fuel prices to fall to N40 per liter.... Well, NLC organizing a protest in 2012 against the then fuel subsidy removal...partial removal..but very drastic....and might have made things better....is what led to Nigeria wasting N4 trillion over 5 years subsidizing fuel...money that won't have been wasted if NLC had woken up and realized that subsidy was no longer sustainable. As for Wike, he is playing politics. That means he too did not support GEJ's subsidy removal....meaning that he too wants government to spend more money we don't have subsidizing fuel. Well, the fact is, Nigeria cannot afford more debt in the name of a subsidy that should have gone since the 1990's. 1 Like |
