Well, I really do not know what transpired between those two but I don't think 2face stole the song outrightly like blackface is claiming.

What I think happened ( which is a wild guess) is that they both owned the song i.e they co-wrote it while still together as a group and after the whole group thing wasn't working 2face looking for a hit song to put out there probably freestyle the song under his new management, they liked it and encouraged him to put the song out there.

Methinks blackface was pissed 2face did not only get credit for song they both came up with, but also made lots of money from performing it across the world while he (blackface)got nothing other than being called a frustrated igbo smoker who is jealous of his old friend's success.

I don't think 2face's version is a substandard copy of the song, rather it appears to me as a fine tuned R'N'B version of it.

By all accounts from their collaborators, Blackface was the writer of the group and the way he flexed his version shows more dexterity with the song like he owns it. He also left out 2Face third verse and sang his own third verse cos he didn't write that portion. 2Face third verse was the weakest verse of the original and completely out of kilter with the first two verses, and was more like a disjointed rambling to fill in space.

2Face had the voice but Blackface was the writer clearly to me as the song structure and cadence shows he owns it on his version.

It's funny that money always wins in life cos I saw Blackface as a bitter broke hater from perception on the internet, but when you hear his interviews, he is very composed and just a guy fighting for his intellectual property, and this song showed me the Intellectual property is his.

The fact that 2face has refused to comment on the matter ever since it has been raised in the media likely shows he's guilty of some misdoings; what this misdoing is we may never be too sure whether it was true he stole the song single handedly written by blackface and taking the glory for it or whether the he had an input in the song as well as blackface and later choose to hunt for glory all alone.....

One thing is clear, 2face didn't burgle black faces apartment to steal the song and made it his own, rather he was part and parcel of the process that birthed the original song.

Methinks 2face owes blcakface, but the extent of his debt is what we will never know except they both come to a table and discuss it while third parties in the know of it from the beginning chip in what and what they know about the whole thing.

You are probably right. Those 2 co-wrote several songs together and during the creative process it becomes difficult to calculate if a song is 50-50 or 60-40 or whatever.

Tuface could have avoided it from the start if he had given Blackface some credit and that is what got to Blackface. Faze is the only one that could have settled this (if he gave a truthful testimony)
