GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA NAMES FEDERAL SECRETARIAT/PH ROAD AFTER PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI


Gov. Hope Uzodimma has named the newly constructed and commissioned Federal Secretariat/Ph road after President Mohammadu Buhari as a sign of appreciation and a mark of respect for the person of Mr. President.

The act of naming roads after some individuals or personalities that has distinguished themselves in various acts or fields of endeavors is never a misnomer or a misfit. Oftentimes, this singular honor is usually credited to the dead as a way of immortalizing them but it has become obvious that we do not have to wait for men and women of great accomplishments to die before we celebrate them or immortalize their names or legacies for generations yet unborn and this is what Gov. Hope Uzodimma has demonstrated.

Imo state and Gov. Hope Uzodimma are not the first to have tolled the path of immortalizing great men and women whose contributions are eminent and beneficial to their immediate communities. Previous administrations in the state had at one point or the other renamed institutions, roads and other government owned offices after some of its past leaders and administrators or individuals of great repute just as a way of saying thank you for all they have done. Unfortunately, this honorary gesture has been reduced to a child’s play and its intention ruined for selfish reasons.

President Muhammadu Buhari no doubt has shown much support in imo state in appointments, empowerments, security, federal projects amongst many other things. This is without mentioning his giant strides in the South East Zone especially the 2nd Niger Bridge under construction. In the light of all these, it is only but a mark of appreciation and an act to further strengthen the ties between the state and the federal government and this we are grateful to Gov. Hope Uzodimma for doing.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma has constantly proven his mastery of national politics and at every opportunity connects imo state to the federal government of which the results are becoming glaring and in no distant time the state and Imolites will benefit from this goodwill.
