Please what are the major checks to do before buying a used car?

So from the writeup can we conclude that catalytic converter has nothing to do with fuel efficiency/economy...

My Toyota Sienna vibrates like it wants to go off if the vehicle slows down or not in motion while on gear... Did a scan and it came up with one code Bank 1 and 2.. I tried flushing out the exhaust for burnt out catalytic converter and replaced 2 of the exhaust pots... Now it jus gets the exhaust vibrating and the noise is really annoying

The presence of a DTC switches the vehicle’s engine computer into a mode that would prevent it from causing excessive damage to the Engine.
In certain vehicles like Honda/Acura Rpm’s are limited to 3,000. Vehicles like Toyota/Lexus the anti-slip system is disabled, the 4-wheel drive system is disengaged.

Same way the Catalytic converter code causes a slight change in Fuel mapping. The engine computer reacts to that change by using values designed for that anticipated failure. These values cause a “slight” change in fuel consumption.

I did and it came up with an error code which wwn I looked it up referred to a Bank 2 sensor or so. The VSC and Trac Off light displays on the dashboard

for example

P0420 or P0430 suggests Absent Catalytic Converter.
