It is a great honour to share in the joy of your birthday. Today is indeed special to some of us that you have taught the basic essentials of leadership. A full year will not be enough to set down the great programs you quietly supported through me.

At every instant you reenacted your commitment to help youths of Idoma extraction get good jobs and empowerment.
One of the unforgettable programs you midwife and sponsored was the Door2Door Campaign Organization. With this, you created a platform for me to lead one of the greatest youth movement in the history of Nigerian politics: we caused a creative disruption that uplifted the veil to usher in a space for youths in politics. Today the Organization has birthed over a thousand grassroots and opinion leaders.

In building a bridge for young athletes to meet their dreams, you established MarkDBall Basketball fiesta and secured funding for it to become Africa's biggest Basketball event. The thousand of Children, Youths and professionals that have benefited from the event would remember you for your good works.

Your leadership acuity was again brought to the fore when you facilitated Home Land Defense Initiative to proffer solution to security concern in Idoma land. The boys that surrendered their old ways to turn to new live in the spirit of Home Land Defense have become more useful to the Society.

I could go on and on but today is not a day of words but of celebration. A resounding celebration to you in this new year and many more to come.

This were the Words of a Lutheran Priest Martin Neomoller During the Days of The Nazi Persecution in Germany.Any time I read this poem ,A personality whom I admire so much comes to mind. A man who has never been silent in defending his father land no Matter the persecution.


Many often say that the lion is the king of the Jungle,not because it is feared by many but its attributes as the leader of the pack. There are no words to describe anyone in the East Better than Senator Ike Ekweremadu. Ikeoha as he is fondly called deserves all the accolades for his tenacity and doggedness.

Senator Ike Ekweremadu, PhD, CFR hails from Mpu in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State. He holds both Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka as well as Certificates in Leadership from Harvard University and Oxford University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from the University of Abuja. Senator Ekweremadu was a career legal practitioner and an Associate Lecturer at his alma mater before running for political office.


He was elected a Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District in 2003. He was re-elected into the Senate in 2007 and 2011. In the Senate, he was unanimously elected the Deputy President of the Senate for two consecutive terms in 2007 and 2011.In 2015, he was again re-elected a senator and re-elected for three consecutive times as the Deputy President of the 8th Senate.

Some of His achievements in the Senate, are numerous,The Senator has a number of Bills and motions to his credit in addition to several co-sponsored Bills. His Bills include the Civil Process Servers Bill, Private Detectives and Investigators Bill, Federal Land Registry (General Provisions) Bill as well as the State of the Nation Address Bill and the River Basins Development Authority (Amendment) Bill both of which have been passed by the two Chambers of the National Assembly. His co-sponsored Bills include the Nigeria Police Act (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill, Abolition of Discrimination Against Women Bill; National Human Rights Commission Act (Amendment) Bill, and the Legal Aid Council Act (Amendment) Bill. Key among his sole sponsored Motions include “The Absence of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, “The Surging Incident of Kidnapping and Hostage-taking in Nigeria”; “The Outbreak of Hostilities in Jos”, “The Menace of Gully Erosion and Landslide in the South East of Nigeria”. He has also chaired various important Committees in the Senate, including the Senate Committee on Constitution Review, which at present he heads for three consecutive time. As Chairman of this Committee from 2007 to 2011, Senator Ekweremadu has received recognitions and awards for piloting the first successful amendment of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria. The amendment resulted in elaborate electoral reforms that laid the foundation for the widely applauded 2011 General Elections. As Chairman of the Joint steering Committee of the Policy Analysis and Research Project (PARP) of the National Assembly (a capacity building project supported by African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), based in Harare, Zimbabwe) from 2007, Sen Ekweremadu effectively steered the Project to a resounding success, resulting in its transformation into a full-fledged National Institute for Legislative Studies (NILS), which Governing Council he chairs at present. As a Member of the Nigerian Delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament since 2003, the First Deputy Speaker in 2007 and subsequently the Speaker of the Community Parliament, he has gained wide reputation as a firm believer and courageous defender of democracy in the West African sub-region.


As the Distinguished Senator was inaugurated yesterday into the 9th Senate he should know that there a set of Nigerians who have been observing him and are certain that the prosperity of Nigerian will come through men like him.

Arising from a scheduled DIY (Do It Yourself) Sensitization workshop organized by the Abuja based Igbo-centric Socio-cultural organization, Igbo Indigenes Without Border (IIWB), for the electorate of Enugu West constituency in Enugu State, a fortnight ago in preparation for the forthcoming general elections, Dr. Bernard Oshi, the President General of IIWB has reiterated his call for the continuity of credible representations at the upper chamber for Ndi Igbo, as exemplified by Professor Ike Ekweremadu, Ikeoha Ndi Igbo.


Speaking to a select crop of media organizations during the closing ceremony of the workshop which held at Ndiagboh, Aninri LGA, Enugu State, Oshi called for the re election of the distinguished Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate who according to him is “the epitome of service, sacrifice, unalloyed and fruitful representations, and a true democrat whose sole aim in government is hinged on the betterment of his people, devoid of pecuniary needs! My constituency has never had it this good, never before! And like Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, we want more of the good times, more of the giant strides in both human and infrastructural developments, more of the robust representations, and of course, more of the overwhelming goodwill that Ikeoha attracts to our land” he declared.


Dr. Bernard Oshi, a Youth Ambassador of note whose philanthropic gestures is becoming quite legendary, is of the opinion that “the only way to build up Igbo Land is by making sure we always present our best eleven at all times, because it is only our best team that comprises of political heavyweights and intellectually sound people like the venerable Chief Ekweremadu and men of his ilk that can help us all in creating the Igbo land of our dreams.”


Extolling the virtues of the Mpu-Aninri born Deputy Senate President, Dr. Oshi, popularly known as Ben 10, opined that “Ikeoha has demonstrated time and time again through his political sagacity that representing a people goes far beyond warming the seats at the legislative chambers and arguing and bantering words that does not impact positively on the people being represented. He has opened our eyes to what it’s all about; about representations and governance with a human face and about the dividends of democracy accruable to we, the masses; the electorate! We have tasted this sweet side of the democratic apple, therefore, we can never settle for anything less. That’s why I state it equivocally once again, Ike Oha Ndi Igbo is our Man; he is our strength!”


An enterprising and upwardly mobile young man who like the proverbial nwata has washed his hands thoroughly to dine and wine with the elders, Oshi is the CEO of Ben 10 Equipments, Ben 10 Global Resources and Ben 10 Entertainments, alongside a thriving non for profit charitable organization he uses in extending his widow’s mite to the needy in his community. Uche Nwosu, the former chief of staff to the Imo state governor Rochas Okorocha, has always been the true choice of the people. Being born and brought up in Imo state in Nkwere Local Government Area, has endured him as the son of the soil and his traditional childhood has betrothed him the experience of the grassroot government even before he assured to become the fledgling young politically inclined personality.

Uche Nwosu, is true son of his father, a catechist in Imo state with an admirable religious background which is completely mirrored in his admirable qualities both in politics and in his philanthropic pursuit.

His education has no record of any superiority or class, he was a survivor of the common hardship like everyone else in the society and a product of handwork and dedication. The modest Nwosu, attended public schools from his primary to his secondary school.
Therefore, have tasted the bitter system of maladministration and the dangers of a poor educational system. Uche Nwosu, has been in the same shoe like every average and low class Income earners of Imo state and knows where it itches.


In all his experience he had sworn to climb to the top and make the change he wishes to see. He has ever since been done well in his political career, under the fine rule of Rochas Okorocha as the Chief of Staff of Imo State from 2011 – 2013 and also the Commissioner for Land from 2013-2015.

Being the Commissioner for land from 2013 to 2015 has accorded him the ability to understand the grassroot level, with deep respect for culture and traditions. This has drawn him closer to the masses, to observe and analyse first hand the the needs of the ever growing societies of Imo State.

His upbringing has always been a lifestyle of discipline and morals, being brought up in a traditional environment like the Nkwere and also in a Christian family affords him the understanding of the norms and societal value and also the respect of religion, giving him the balanced judgment of both parts of the society.


Uche Nwosu’s experience has readied him for leadership and is enough manifesto even before his ambition to declare to become Imo state next Governor suffice.
Even though his counterparts swooped his rightful ticket to contest as the governor of Imo state under the All Progressive Congress party, APC.

His attractiveness exhumed recent aura that has put him on almost every news headlines in the past few months and the political forefront of the nation’s upcoming election. The promising young politician has shown a record of persistent transparency, in his political dealings and in the discharge of his duties in office.



Despite all odds, the good citizen of Imo has remained pleased with the outcry of the Imolite about the politicking that lead to his loss in the APC primaries. He has received a lot of support from the Imo state indigenes who have declared him as ‘The people’s choice.’

More so, the state house of assembly who gave him their support to come out as a governorship candidate in order to maintain the free education policy that governor Rochas footed in Imo state. A fight which the Imolites thought has bitten the dust, but from the ashes Uche Nwosu has resurrected that dream.

Nwosu has served in various capacity that has been of great impact to Imo state. He is dedicated democrat and an advocate of engenderment of civic rights of citizens and gives the life of the poor man in the society a sense of self-worth.

Despite all the road blocks mounted by other parties and counterparts to deter the fast rising transparent and prominent politician, he has shown doggedness and have refused to partake in the politics of give and take or even depend on Godfatherism. His mettle has earned him a governorship ticket in AA and Nwosu is fully armed to the teeth and ready for the Imo State gubernatorial election, 2019.

Nwosu, has maintained a clean political slate since his appointment as the deputy chief of staff in Imo state. The young politician has also involved in humanitarian service behind the cameras and is a core member and contributor of the Rochas Okorocha foundation.
It was not until Nwosu decamped from APC to Party for Action Alliance (AA) diverting all his supporters to the party. His political worth, increased as newsmen have begun to surmise the impact it might have on the presidential election. He might just be that one hole that might sink the titanic APC party.

But Nwosu, has still shown dedication and loyalty to his former party, by pledging his support for president Mohamed Buhari (PMB) in the upcoming election despite his recent rift with the party.

Therefore, it has become paramount to call the transparent man ‘Nwosu the understanding and merciful.’ Because of the selfless attitude that his wonderful personality puts forwards.
Nwosu is a refined politician who have the domesticated understanding of the grassroot government instead of the usual Aso rock politicians who rule from the capital, abandon and kill the people’s needs and bury them in the graves political grammars.

The Imo state indigenes have been empowered by Uche Nwosu as they have achieved what every state has long been fighting against. The excesses and influences of political parties in the gubernatorial elections, thereby determining to a large extent, the person to win the election.

It appears that social media polls are no longer enough as Ugwumba breaks the streak of the ruling parties seeming domination over Imo state by showing them a new path of civil liberty other than the corrupt ridden people’s Democratic Party (PDP) or the controversial All Progressive Congress (APC).
The cheap propagandas and allegations about Ugwumba’s withdrawal from the gubernatorial political race sown in the media was a complete smoke without fire. It’s a sign of the recognition that Ugwumba is a formidable opponent because of his wide acceptance by his people.

He however, dismissed those claims and restored the confidence of his supporters as he called it a careless, cheap threat and a sign of jittery purported by his political opponents as a tool to open holes and drag his good reputation in the mud using the media.

Imo state gubernatorial campaign with Ugwumba in picture has shown that democracy is gradually being restored in the state and the country at large. There have been high alertness and awareness about who to support and consequently who to vote for in the upcoming Imo state election.

Ugwumba has become the eye opener of the youth and the masses that has shown them the power of their vote and the relevance of supporting good government.

UCHE NWOSU, THE PEOPLES CHOICE

Since his decision to leave the APC and join the Action Alliance in order to fulfil the wishes of the masses, the support for Ugwumba from all over Imo State has been overwhelming especially from the youths and women. He has since been seen in almost every local government area in the state where he has been honoured with numerous traditional titles to show their solidarity and support for him.

It should be noted that none of the other aspirants in the state can boast of such massive support as the one enjoyed by Ugwumba Uche Nwosu. This is because they only attract zonal support from their respective regions. Ugwumba has been endorsed by every group in the state, including the women, youths and craftsmen. From Owerri zone, Okigwe zone and Orlu zone, everyone who has the love of Imo at heart would easily support Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, because he has shown from his experience and manifesto that he is a man of vision, a man who is willing to work diligently for the Imo people.

None of the other aspirants can offer what Ugwumba has to offer, as he has made it his primary objective to work and serve the People of Imo state through his mantra ‘’I HAVE COME TO WORK’’. Through his manifesto, He has promised a government that would focus on youth and women empowerment, taking free education to the next level by introducing computerization of the schools, improvement in agricultural sector. In the health sector, he has promised to increase the health centres in the state and improve on the existing quality. Local governments will be able to generate their own revenue through industrialization thus leading to job creation and reduction of unemployment. The security and welfare of the people of Imo will be improved on. Pensioners will be paid their due arrears and civil servants will experience no delay in salary payments

Imo state is a political ‘vehicle’ and needs someone like Ugwumba Uche Nwosu with almost a decade of experience, understanding and political pedigree to drive this ‘vehicle’ to greater heights. The men, the women, the youths, craftsmen and elites, all the good people of Imo state knows this fact and that is why they have come out en masse to show that Ugwumba is their choice

Education is one of the most important sectors of an economy. Achieving qualitative education has been one of Nigeria’s biggest problems. This is because education in Nigeria is one sector that has been neglected by any government that comes to power since the inception of APC and PDP in Nigeria and has received the lowest percentage of the country’s budget therefore each states received low funding consequently.

In the south east, Imo state had the poorest educational system, the public schools were in laughable conditions and the up to standard private schools were not affordable for an average indigene of Imo State. This problem continued until the coming of Rochas Okorocha as the governor of Imo state in 2011, who declared free education in the second year of his first tenure in 2012 in Imo state becoming the first governor to have attempted free education not just in Imo state but in Nigeria as a whole.

The most important level of education are the basics which include the primary and secondary education and in Nigeria the standard was very poor thereby, the foundation that could foot a sound student is lacking. Governor Rochas, did not only revive the educational sector of Imo State back to life, he improved the standard of basic education from internally generated revenues. By doing that in three years he has rid half the population of Imo state of illiteracy with free education, enforced laws that made free primary and secondary education compulsory in Imo state.
He also footed the free education campaign which later spread to the south west and further south east and other parts of Nigeria, challenging the performance of other governors in Nigeria.

In his unchallenged and sustained success against illiteracy for seven good years, he has become the only governor who has sustained freed education and shamed the political excuse of lack of federal government funding. He did not only limit the benefits of the free education to only indigenes but in November 2018, he also extended it to non-indigenes who are citizens of Nigeria and a resident in Imo state. Rochas has ever since been promoting education through other means.

The man many Nigerians know as Senator Hope Uzodinma, the APC governorship candidate for Imo state is renowned amongst his colleagues as a serial fraudster. His fraudulent nature goes back a long way, from his forged University certificate, infidelity, money laundry, fraudulent contracts, and other financial crimes


Following his unconstitutional emergence as the flag bearer of the ruling party through the assistance of the unrepentant party chairman Com. Adams Oshiomole and other top caucus members of the APC, the senator has paid millions of naira to cover up his many atrocities from the media. It is however imperative to recite the proverbial saying that nothing is hidden under the sun.


We believe Nigerians and most especially, the people of Imo state deserve to know the truth about Senator Hope Uzodinma. In such belief, we have listed, in a timeline, a number of the criminal actions of the senator over the years


In 2001, after inquiries made by the Justice Oputa Commission, it was discovered that, Hope Uzodinma was involved with other politicians in an attempt to bribe then former Head Of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar through the National Maritime Authority.


In 2005, the EFCC arraigned Hope Uzodinma after he was awarded fraudulent contracts worth N250M by Dere Awosika, a contract that was never executed.


In 2009, the EFCC again arrested hope Uzodinma for a financial crime he committed 4 years earlier by obtaining money under false pretence from SpringBank Plc. using one of his fake companies, Transurb Technical Consult Ltd


In 2013, the claim by Senator hope Uzodinma to have graduated from Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) and possesses a Higher National Diploma (HND) from the institution was debunked as untrue by the management of FUTO as no such certificate was at any time awarded to hope Uzodinma, and that the certificate he is parading is a forgery. Hope Uzodinma is a secondary school dropout who worked in a bakery in Lagos and was a driver to Maurice Ibekwe. He also worked as a driver in Mbaise for the Evuleocha family.


In 2015, senator hope Uzodinma was arrested by the Nigerian Police for thumb-printing ballot papers at a private residence during the gubernatorial re-run elections in Imo State


In 2016, Activist and businessman, Nze Ebubeagu Ekenulo raised the alarm and exposed Senator Hope Uzodinma for having an affair with his wife and infecting her with HIV. Hope Uzodinma is a serial womanizer who since he lost his wife over 20 years ago in 1996 has refused to remarry.


In 2018, Hope Uzodinma, with the help of the APC National Party Chairman, Adams Oshiomole and Chairman of the Imo state APC primaries, Ahmed Gulak, declared himself as the APC flag bearer despite not winning the Party primaries in the state, much to the chagrin of the people of Imo state. It has now been revealed that Uzodinma had a secret deal with Adams Oshiomole and his cohorts that if made the gubernatorial flag bearer and eventually wins the election, he would grant a monthly release of about N500 million every month throughout his tenure from the Imo state treasury to Oshiomole and his cohorts


In 2018, the Senator was arrested by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for Recovery of Public Property (SPIPRPP) for failure to execute a contract of $12 million (N4.8B) for the dredging of the Calabar channel by the Nigerian Ports Authority. According to the chairman of the SPIPRPP, Okoi Obono-Obla, the senator had been evading arrest for over a year, until he was finally apprehended by the panel.
