Foreign Affairs / Re: Let Us Discuss Taiwan- Is It A Country? by prettyayomide01(f): 11:03am On Aug 08, 2022
Dvdpity:

At the end of your beautiful story, you made a mess of it. As of 400yrs ago the han Chinese were rulers of Taiwan.
Let me remind you that countries all over the world are made up of various ethnicities and Taiwan is 70% Chinese.
Let end this debucle here.

I don't want to argue with you.

Han Chinese started ruling Taiwan when a Ming loyalist Koxinga and his men ruled some parts of Taiwan, with the intention of using it as a base to recapture Qin ruled China.

koxinga and his men didn't last long in Taiwan. Qin(Manchus) later annexed Taiwan

As for Ethnicity.
It may be true that the population of Taiwan is 70% Chinese.

But try to understand that this Chinese people are not indigenous Taiwanese.

Some of this Chinese robed their way into Taiwan.

Some went to do business in Taiwan and remained there with their descendants.

Some were the people that followed Chiang Kai Shek to Taiwan, when he was defeated in mainland China.

Chiang Kai Shek and his men were largely not opposed by the illiterate and unexposed Polynesian aborigine ethnic groups of Taiwan.

Chiang Kai Shek died, and his fellow Chinese and their descendants continued ruling Taiwan.

In the beginning, the island Taiwan was occupied by various ethnic groups that are/were related to Polynesian people.

Members of the ethnic groups weren't mongoloid like Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc.

The Manchurian people( another Mongolian people) conquered China, and they established a new empire called Qin(in 1644)

Note: the China that I am talking about was mainland China, and has nothing to do with Taiwan.

And, the China I am talking about was an Empire called Ming. It was made up various mongoloid and non mongoloid ethnics. The mongoloid ethnic group Han was the ruling and dominating ethnic group in the empire.

Now, when the Manchurians conquered China( then called Ming empire) they established an empire called Qin empire.

The conquering Qin didn't wipe away everything Ming. Ming empire loyalists that remained waged guerilla warfares against the Manchus(Qin empire)

When this Ming empire loyalists were overwhelmed by the Manchus(Qin empire), they crossed the sea to the island Taiwan to regroup and recoupe.

Like I said, Taiwan was already occupied by various Polynesian ethnic groups. They Ming empire loyalists that crossed to Taiwan in order to find a new base to reconquer China, found some of these ethnic Polynesian people and wiped them away, and chased those that survived into the hinterland.

In the end, the Ming empire loyalists failed to re reconquer China, and the more superior Manchus(Qin empire) used the excuse of Taiwan harbouring Ming rebels to conquer and add Taiwan in the Qin empire.

Take note: Before the days of Ming and Qin, Chinese people have been migrating to Taiwan to do business or finding greener pastures.

But the Ming loyalists were the first Chinese people that applied arm force on Taiwan.

After Qin(the Manchus) took over both mainland China and Taiwan, they ruled them for upto 400 years.

In the year 1912, the Han ethnic group and other ethnic groups who have had enough of the Qin(Manchus) did a revolution and dislodged the Qin.

(Taiwan was still part of China)

The positive result the revolution brought didn't last long. Different factions that sought to control the government emerged. One of the factions was the faction of Communist Chairman Mao Tse Tung, and other the other was Nationalist Chiang Kai Shek faction

(Taiwan was still acknowledged as part of China by both the Communist and the Nationalist)

The Nationalist under Chiang Kai Shek initially had the upper hand in the civil war. In the end The Communist under Chairman Mao Tse Tung won.

Chiang Kai Shek ran to Taiwan with his loyalists and formed a government their, over the illiterate and unexposed Polynesian aborigine ethnic groups.

His plan was to get stronger in Taiwan and be able to reconquer mainland China.

When it became obvious to him that the plan would be near impossible for him, the concentrated on Taiwan and declared it independent from Mainland China.

Afraid that Communist mainland China under Chairman Mao will soon reconquer Taiwan, he (Chiang Kai Shek) allied with America so that America will give his government protection against Chairman Mao.

Now, the thing is why is it that when Chiang Kai Shek had the upper hand in the civil war in mainland China, he recognized Taiwan as part of Mainland China?

But, when he saw defeat, and ran to Taiwan he declared Taiwan an independent country?

Back to the main question in this thread, my answer is that Taiwan is not part of mainland China.

Because, the aborigines of Taiwan were not even the same race with the the mainland Chinese people.

That they were largely illiterate and unexposed
doesn't mean that you(mainland Chinese government) will determine the country the belong in.

You can't say "we have the to right to determine their country because many Mainland Chinese people migrated to and control their island"
