BusinessRe: What's The Best Website In Nigeria To Buy Foreign & Local Products Online? by priceman: 5:05pm On Aug 05, 2011
Nigerians (I assume they are behind this project) are doing great things. Lets keep it up. BTW I think it will save time and energy for Nigerians if the products on Truebranches.com are put up at www.ngpricehunter.com in Naira value so that Nigerians can compare for themselves. It is a little confusing when I could not find the prices of the products on truebranches in Naira. I assume that Nigeria is not the only African country targeted so i would think that bringing those products to www.ngpricehunter.com in Naira would be a good thing.

Well done guys. You have done well. Lets keep making shopping easier for Nigeria.  grin

Adamricky, if you aske me I would say Iphone. But again, it is a matter of taste. Fact is, Blackberry is a dead horse even if it seems popular today in Nigeria. Trust us Nigerians to want to copy Americans. Blackberry is already losing market in the USA. People are switching to Android and Iphones. These two have lots of free apps and more apps are comming into the App market everyday. Android phone and Iphone are the future. They are already leading.

Blackberry reminds me of Americans attempt at Hummer SUV. see what happened to hummer. They dumped it an fast. Of course they dumped some in Nigeria. If the price was cheaper, every nigerian could have owned a Hummer SUV.

So my two cents, buy Iphone.

BusinessRe: Online Business For Those That Are Strong. by priceman: 7:35pm On Aug 02, 2011
Nkem, why do you thinks so? At least doing any kind of business demands a good degree of mental strongness. Dont you think? Without yoru providing more information, I would assume that in the case of online business 1 + 1 is 2. There is no getting around it. It evolves. You have to do your home work. Nigerian web space (if I may say so) is full of cemetaries of dead websites and ideas.

You dont get into online business if you lack descipline. You must be educated otherwise you can get beyond message boards.

Still, I am one who has witness the internet bubble burst in the early 90's and the revival in the mid 90s to this day. For Nigerians with passion for online business here is my take: this is the time to get in. Have your ideas ready, plan the execution and define how you are going to stay in business come rain come sun. If you can sort that out then you are good to go. Just keep your passion burning.

Mentally strong? Now you see, it is the case when you are not bribing someone left and right for contract but relying on your sweat and inspiration.

Then see if your own price is fare. The shops on this site are all selling genuine laptops with genuine OS plus gaurantees.
Some shops there allow you to reserve the product online, then pay pick it up in person at their shop.
BusinessRe: Do Nigerians Buy Goods Online? by priceman: 12:21am On Aug 02, 2011
Possicon Nigerian are shopping online. Yes they are. There is no need going to a UK site. Honestly, I work for Nigeria's first Price and shopping comparison website (the link and name of the site is in my profile. Check it out there ). It works like pricerunner. If you want to shop online, instead of searching one shop after another, just go to our price comparison site and you will find thousands of products from many Nigerian online shops. You compare their prices and choose which one to buy from.

We deal with only shop that are in Nigeria. We vet these shop and make sure we visit their wharehouses. Finally, you can write a review about your experience with the shop you bought from or about the product later. That way the customer is king and online shops are pressed to give great services or the whole nigeria will read about them.

That is it my man. We have the ecommerce shops you are looking for and they are 100% as good as any other online shop.

See the screenshot of the site here.

BusinessRe: Kalahari Nigeria - How Good Is The Online Shop? by priceman: 12:08am On Aug 02, 2011
I am amazed anyone would doubt Kalahari. If you were only saying things like slow delivery or compalining about customer services I would say well that can happen. Hmmm. Anyways, I hope it is now clear that they are as reliable as anyother online shop in the world. Although it is not a 100% Nigerian company, I would like to tell you all that there are many Nigerian Online shops that are reliable.

Myself I work for the Newly launched site which is Nigeria's first price and shopping comparison website. Before you ask, We dont sell products but if you want to buy online here in Nigeria, it is  good place to compare products and prices from many Nigerian online shops. We display products from different Nigerian online shops. Mind you, Only Nigerian shops. This of course save you time googling and searching for different online shops. We are just 20 days old today.

In relation to this discussion, the good thing we do on our own site is that with time, shoppers like you will start rating and writing review about your experiences with the shops you bought from or about the products you bought. This system will eliminate "bad bele" or all these "I hear say".
We hope that, in the future, people can read what other people have experienced with Nigerian shop or their products.

The name of our site can be seen in my profile (I dont want to be banned by spam bot :C). By the way, Kalahari has not joined us yet. So I am not defending them for selfish reasons. I just know that they are reliable. I wish them well too.
