It's not about protest or no protest,GEJ wasn't bold enough to take those hard decisions,he was scared of the backlash from the citizens just as you are doing against tinubu now he sacrificed expediency for politics by trying to be politically correct while the economy was crashing.

Same GEJ and his minister for finance at the time, okonjo iweala where screaming over the root tops to everyone's hearing that Nigeria's economy was heading for disaster if we continued with our rent seeking,self entitlement mentality.....they shouted it loud and clear that we couldn't continue with subsidies,the naira was being heavily Defended and the artificial value at the time was not sustainable.however,they weren't bold enough to implement the bold reforms required at the time which the current president is doing.
