I don't think it's that serious because lots of people I know have already left the forum due to toxicity. Secondly the platform which this site if built on is very outdated and can't have such features

Look at it this way , people have a choice to visit this site or not. They have a choice , they deserve some gratitude for doing so , you aren't doing anyone any favours. If you shut this site down today maybe some people will rant online and mock you or even feel sad but inevitably they will move on. There are thousands of sites like this now , it's nothing special anymore.

So when they complain about how toxic it is stop taking it personally and see it like you own a hotel and guests are angry it's dirty and smelly.

If you fix up the place don't think you did it for them ,no you did it for your business to be able to attract new clients because irrespective of any propaganda it's obvious this site is loosing users daily. It's bleeding so fixing It is a right step.
