Thanks so much for this explanation. Very informative. My project is at the plastering stage and I am looking at buying my internal doors from you. Do you sell sub frame separately or everything comes together with the door?. Can I buy only the sub frames now from you and go ahead with installation and plastering and then get the full doors later? Or better still, can you please further explain the difference between sub frame and door frame. I am a little bit confused here. Thanks

We do not sell sub frames sir. These would be installed by your brick layers on site before the doors are brought. Any competent bricklayer would have the technical knowledge on how to create and install sub frames. Just ask your bricklayer to do this before the doors are installed.

SUB frames are different from DOOR frames. Sub frames carry and transfer the load of the door and the door frames to the wall. These frames are made of basic wood, usually coupled in a "ladder-like" form, and placed on the wall. The DOOR frames are nailed or screwed onto this SUB frame, and then the door is hung on using hinges.

Can the door frames and the door be installed after wall screeding too? Please educate us.

Yes, they can be installed after screeding. Its usually better to install before wall screeding though, due to the mess it may give off while installing.

Plastering comes before screeding, and screeding before painting. Installation requires that subframes be installed before the doors come in. The subframes vary in widths.These need to be installed and plastered to fill up the holes created. After plastering the areas around and within the subframe to give it strength and hold it in place, the door frame is then installed. After this, the door comes in.

If screeding has been done and there is a subframe installed already, then yes, the door can be installed afterwards. If screeding has been done and the subframe has not been installed yet, the door can still be installed. It would just be additional effort in installing the subframes, replastering the areas around it, and then installing the door frames.

There is however a replacement for subframes. It is a spray foam used in installing doors that have past subframe level or used by clients who do not want to use subframes or used in cases of emergency installation where, like in your question, screeding has been done and you want to avoid the stress of installing the subframes. The wall edge is scratched off to give it a rough finish for rigidity, and the foam is sprayed on the wall. The door frame is then glued to the foam and the door is hung on.

If your subframe was installed before screeding, door installation can be done easily. If it was not, then you would have to go through the whole process, or ypou could use the spray foam installation method substitute.

This particular wallpaper is an architectural rendering effect. The design may or may not be available in the market. We only install wallpapers accompanied with kitchen installations, not alone.

The door is an Israeli bullet proof door, 3ft 6inches frame. It costs N285000. I could give a 5% discount on that price.

We are truly sorry about that. We currently have interior and exterior doors of the Turkey, Phospho and China grades. Some wooden doors are available as well. 4ft China-turkey door goes for N95,000. 4ft Turkey door goes for N131,000 and N140,000. Pon-pon Turkey door goes for N90,000, 4ft.

Phospho doors also exist in 4ft, and are of different types.

The wooden doors, flush, go for N35,000. This includes the frame and architrave. It comes in Akala or cherry colors. Semi solid flush door also goes for N25,000 with the frame and architrave.
