*PROCEDURE*
1. Buyer and seller signed mou/payment instruction for the dollars and naira offshore to offshore swap.
2. Buyer choose any bank of choice at abuja for a meeting with seller or seller's mandate to initiate the transaction
3. Buyer authorized his bank to raise a lien letter for the naira equivalent of dollars buyer is buying and state
as follows on the letter: that ayz of naira equivalent of dollars will be be credited into seller's account name ................... ACCOUNT and place lien for 48 hours, that upon recipient of telex copy via buyer's account officer and confirmation of xyz amount of dollars in buyer's offshore account of xyz details, Buyer's bank should remove the lien restriction from seller's account immediately and send a bank confirmation letter to seller's account officer and seller's mandate that the lien restriction has been removed from seller's account, should in case the seller fails to credit buyer offshore account within 3 hours to 48 hours after the lien instruction has been executed, the naira should automatically be recalled back to buyer's account immediately without delay, the lien letter will be signed by the bank, seller and seller's mandate and sent back to buyer's bank then the naira will be transfer to seller's account and lien placed on it for 48 hours.
4. Alternatively buyer and seller's mandate meet at buyer's bank of choice at abuja and present seller's account details and ibpu verbiage for buyer to raise an ibpu in favour of seller and transmit the ibpu to seller's account officer and copied seller's mandate.
5. Seller will confirmed ibpu and send a conditional pre advice to buyer's offshore account, the conditional pre advice state that the dollars has been set aside and ready to be transferred to buyer's offshore account upon confirmation of naira in seller's account.
6. Buyer confirmed seller's pre advice and initiate no 3. of this procedure or make a direct wire transfer of naira to seller's account and transmit payment slip to seller's account officer and copy seller's mandate.
7. Seller confirmed the bank lien on his account or the direct wire transfer of naira into his account and credit
buyer's offshore account and send telex copy to buyer's account officer for confirmation of dollars, end of transaction...... *PLEASE IT PERTINENT TO NOTE THAT IN ALL OUR OFFSHORE TRANSACTIONS NAIRA MOVE FIRST BEFORE DOLLARS BECAUSE IN MOST CASES THE COMPANY NAMES PAYING NAIRA IS USUALLY NOT THE SAME WITH THE COMPANY NAMES RECEIVING THE DOLLARS AND THE SELLER'S COMPANY NAME THAT IS RECEIVING NAIRA WILL BE THE SAME COMPANY NAME THAT WILL PAY DOLLARS OR VIA ONE OF THE 21 SUBSIDIARIES OF SAME COMPANY*
