asuustrike2009: True but the question is would most Nigeria youth utilise the money? No. They think of the slightest opportunity to grab anything they see Is not all about money, sometimes just a nudge in the right direction from someone that believes in them will suffice |

lilytender: There is no need for Men's empowerment programmes, men can remain jobless for all the society cares. Go to companies from banks to telecoms, to insurance, to media, e.t.c. More women are now employed. When more women are employed and the men are left jobless, it will lead to something great. There is no jobless man that will want to get married and be feed by his wife because that it not God's command. So, what happens. We shall have very many successful women with no husband, afterall marriage is not an achievement, the jobless men will become mere fucck-boys and sperm donors with single mothers everywhere. Some jobless men will become armed robbers and internet fraudsters. A jobless man married to a successful lady will become frustrated and pick offense with every little thing and may even become a wife beater before the wife finally takes to her heels. All of us, our eyes go come clear. STOP DISCRIMINATION AGAINST MEN !!!!! You got my point, there has been too much neglect on the boy child/young men end from the society. The general believe is that they are strong are that they can always get it on their own and in most cases, that has not been the case. The young men needs direction, they need support, they need people to believe in them e.t.c. so they can become better men for the society at large. God help us all |

delishpot: True that, but that should fall into youth empowerment program na. Where youth of both gender would be empowered to drive and be self sufficient in the society. I don't think women empowerment specifically targets young girls as such except in areas where boys are favoured than girls. But yes, when both are lacking care and support, females should not be attended to alone. Of course there should be youth empowerment programs, but I believe there should also be agencies/programs setup mainly for boys/young men empowerment just as we have for girl child and women alike. Boys/young men should not be neglected to find their feet on their own, as most times, a lot of them make a bad case for it and turns out to be a menace or irresponsible to the society at large. |

delishpot: Men empowerment has never been a problem. From time Men can travel for jobs, leave wives in charge of kids and take advantage of job offers near or far from home. A man can dictate what and where I am woman works, and even if she should work. While a woman can not do same to her man that easily. A woman may not have such options available esp if she is married. But I wish they would create men support agencies that would help men get grants, loans, jobs etc. Esp family men. You do have have a point, but from what am seeing especially now in Nigeria, the neglect of young boys/men in our society is doing a lot of harm. For example look at the high crime rate and the spates of kidnapping and robberies all over the country. A lot of young men don't have a direction to channel their energy and there are no agency as such to look into this. Remember an Idle hand is a devils workshop. The whole country will be better for it, if more attention is given to its young men, because their energies if not channeled and harnessed well, will cause further problems to the society at large. |

I have always been hearing of women empower programs, ministry of women affairs, women poverty alleviation programs, girls child rights e.t.c and have always been wondering, why the men/boys version of all these has been neglected and you will still here the feminists shouting of equal rights at every slight opportunities, please on this evidence, which gender should complain of equal rights or neglect, just wondering.
