4. The second goal effectively killed the contest.
Reinildo was sent off late after picking up a second yellow for a foul on Saka. Sunderland were then punished again when Saka converted the resulting penalty in stoppage time.

My overall verdict

Sunderland didn't lose because Arsenal dominated them for 90 minutes. They lost because Arsenal were more clinical and experienced when the game was decided.

The sequence tells the whole story:

Sunderland penalty missed → Arsenal score → Sunderland chase the game → red card → Arsenal penalty → 0–2.

So, in my view, Le Fée's missed penalty was the biggest moment of the match. Had Sunderland scored it, the entire game could have looked very different.
