CANDIDATE of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Dr. Mike Ukoha has again defeated Prince Eric Aso Kalu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the January, 25, 2020 re-run election for Arochukwu House Of Assembly, held in few polling units in Arochukwu L.G.A.

Dr. Mike Ukoha of the APGA polled a total of 6,550 votes, while Prince Eric Aso polled a total of 5,129 votes.

Its quite obvious that since the discovery of one of the Arochukwu tourist sites (79 steps) no one has been able to give the full history of the water fall.
According to Mr. Denis and Nnadozie Victor they have been able to compile a short video about the water fall.
They described the 79 steps as a water project by our colonial masters in search of a good drinking water for the Aro people.
But along the way, they couldn't complete this great project because of the conflict between Aro people and the great britain between the year 1901 to 1902.

[color=#006600][/color]The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing has called for a collaboration between the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The group made the call in Owerri on Wednesday in a statement issued by Mr. Osmond Nkeoma, its National Publicity Secretary, after its 5th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. The group said the collaboration of both groups will lead to the progress and development of the South East. Making reference to Nnamdi Kanu’s statement, urging Igbos not to partake in 2019 elections, the group thanked God for keeping the life of Kanu, however, noting that “his recent declaration had proved, contrary to most unpopular belief, that Ohanaeze Ndigbo has no hand in his travails and sudden disappearance.” “We, therefore, advice Ndi IPOB to toe the line of intelligence and smartness and have a tactical synergy with Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership. “Movements all over the world that are IPOB in nature are usually involved directly or indirectly with partisan politics,” it said. “The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths (Worldwide) still stands on a restructured Nigeria. “We will canvass for and vote for the presidential candidate who buys into our restructuring ideas. We are Igbos; we have a stake in the Nigerian project. “We will vote because if we fail to, the election will still hold and Nigeria will continue. “Boycotting the elections will not benefit anyone,” it said. The group further called on the Federal Government to “de- proscribe” IPOB, saying the group had not done anything wrong if compared to the activities of herdsmen.

PDP Vice presidential candidate Peter Obi and Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar was cautioned on Tuesday by the Northern Youth Leaders Forum (NYLF) for choosing Peter Obi as his running mate in 2019 general election. Atiku recently picked former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as his vice-president for the forthcoming election. NYLF youths tabled their demand Tuesday after a meeting on Monday with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The national chairman of the group, Elliot Afiyo, advised Atiku to rethink his choice of Obi as his vice-president, if he hopes to earn the North’s support. Afiyo said: “Atiku is an experienced politician, and he knows what happened and as a northern Nigerian, he cannot ignore that group. I have spoken to almost all the Southeast governors and they told me that they remained in PDP because of their governorship elections and after their governorship elections, they will vote somewhere, not PDP.” “And for us to ignore the stakeholders, it is political suicidal, so we must agree with that fact. That was what we told Obasanjo yesterday, that as far as we want Atiku to succeed, he has no alternative than to drop Peter Obi and with the contention between Peter Obi’s group and Ike Ekeremadu’s group, it is not political convenient again to pick a running mate from the Southeast,” he added Afiyo said northerners “consider Peter Obi as anti-North” in the way way he treated the northerners when Obi was the governor of Anambra State. He stated that Obi is been considered as a bonafide member and major sponsor of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by the Northerners . He also added that “70 percent of emirs, traditional rulers from the North will not support Peter Obi as the vice president.” Afiyo said “Atiku is not a saint, anyone that becomes president, there must be a cabal, so we need a vice president that will tell the cabal ‘no’ and Peter Obi doesn’t have the courage and boldness to be the vice president to challenge the authorities. But if Atiku fails to heed our warning, then, APC will win. Buhari will win hands down because we cannot support a failure. We will work for APC.” Obi’s spokesman Valentine Obienyem dismissed the claims by the group. Obienyen said “All those that knew Obi very well for what he did in the past, both in his private business and governance of Anambra State and thereafter, wrote eulogies of him. Researchers went to work. After careful and painstaking analyses of his past, they submitted that he is humble, hard working, knowledgeable about the economy, aware of the myriad of problems of the country, detribalised and a believe in the unity of the country,” He added that ever since Obi left office he has been busy visiting schools all over the “country from Cross River to Sokoto. While speaking in an interview on the BBC Hausa Service which was monitored by PREMIUM Times on Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari’s senior media aide, Garba Shehu, reacted to the reappearance of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Recall that the controversial leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, disappeared last year after clashes between his supporters and soldiers involved in a military exercise in Abia State. Few months later, Kanu, appeared in a video last Friday. Although the video showed him in Israel, the Israeli government, said Kanu had not entered the country recently and the video could be an old one. Kanu later did a broadcast on Sunday from his hideout. Speaking on Tuesday morning, Garba Shehu said the Nigerian government was put under pressure on false accusations that Kanu had either been killed or kidnapped. “If it happens to be true, the video footage showing Mr Nnamdi Kanu; the truth has been revealed about his alleged assassination against Nigerian government. “This fairy tale went up to United Nations General Assembly where some IPOB members staged a protest accusing Nigeria government of kidnapping and even killing of Mr. Kanu,” Shehu said. He said now that Kanu has appeared, people will know who lied between the government and those that made accusations. When asked what will happen if Kanu eventually returns to Nigeria, Shehu said his trial would be expected to continue.
