I work in a consulting firm which is a 100% rule based and strict environment where certain behaviour is expected at all times e.g manner of communication, email etiquettes, relationship with superiors, filling of time sheets, punctuality, etc.
In my first year, i flouted all the rules and was always running into troubles. Consequently, my mid year appraisal took a hit. I didn't submit my timesheets on time, i was a truant, i’d flout dressing rules and all not because i wanted to per se but because i’m more of a maverick or a non conformist.
Interestingly, certain ladies started to throw themselves at me helplessly through gestures and snide remarks. One of them confirmed to me that my carefree attitude drew her to me. This was a square lady and a high flyer at work. At the point when i began to succumb to her emotional yearnings, surprisingly she started to push me away.
I’ve heard many guys share similar stories. I don't believe these are coincidences, rather i believe there is a common trigger.
